boxrec is garbage

(Interview with Bob Arum saying the same thing: Urkal on March 3, Margarito on June 9 (is that Puerto Rican Day?))

Thanks--agreed. Though after actually reading the Arum interview, he's far from promising anything, date-wise. He also mentions Cotto vs. the winner of Castillo-Hatton for that date (which I can't see working out, calendar-wise). And he's hedging against a Margarito-Williams fight again ("You know, Tony's hand is hurt, so we're not going to risk a bigger fight with Cotto by throwing him out there with Williams").Originally Posted by frozensolid_702
cotto is going to brutalize urkal..
i was just quite shocked when i see it so thought might share it with u guys because cotto vs antonio should be hell of a slugfestOriginally Posted by frozensolid_702

I fancy Tony to get past Williams, then my 2 best and THE 2 best WW's on the planet will collide,2 real warriors who don't complain about money,or ask "who is he,what has he done" etc etc BULL. Just fight to see who is the better man. If Margarito gets past Williams and Cotto does his part,I still fancy Margarito BUT ONLY JUST. The guy(Tony),has been a wrecking machine at WW,and even when he was at his absolute worst against Clottey,he still won. He hits ahrd with both hands and so does Cotto so the main thing will be for me:
Can they take the others power? If Margarito can take Cotto's attacks,Cotto is in for a long long night. Both will attack the other to the body in a way they have yet to face.
Stmaina:Margarito's stamina is ASTOUNDING,and as good as Miguel's stamina looked for the 5 rounds against Quintana,Quintana is no Tony. I want to him later in the fight and also,Margarito will set a pace Cotto has nowhere near experienced,he will NOT be allowed any off rounds.
It's refreshing to see 2 great fighters willing to fight ANYONE and not handpick opponents. Also,as I'm 50-50,I'm not going to make ridiculous statements like Cotto will crush Tony etc. Tony has fought bigger, stronger guys and like I said, had 1 bad night the other night but has been awesome at 147. Cotto looked great that 1 night but I'm not going to discard everything Tony's done for Cotto's 1 albeit AWESOME night.
Another point,Cotto's D is not as good as it used to be,so Tony will get to land alot. So yeah, for now,I'd have Tony as a slight favourite, will be a great great fight for fans though, let's hope it occurs.
That is the day b4 the Parade.Originally Posted by shza

I'm 99.9% sure that the Margarito-Cotto fight will NOT go through.... Just a gut feeling....![]()
You are 100 % correct. It will not happen this soon. It will happen but not in 2007.Originally Posted by CutMeMicK
