    Default Thoughts on hatton urango...

Right so its time to adress the topic of hatton urango..
The facts are..Im english..A hatton fan and proud.. and i disagree with some of the statements made against hatton's performance and some of the lesser known posters opinions...

First off the talk is.. Hatton looked bad from quote.. The fifth round onwards by a fair few posters standards.. and aparently it was a hugfest from then on.. so heres my opinion on the fight...

First off..I didnt detect a drop in the pace till around about the 8th..And that wasnt a total drop thats when he began to slow..
And he seemed to drop to as low as he was going to go with his pressure from the ninth onwards..
I frankly think ricky did an incredibly job of boxing juan in the first half of the fight.. Alot of side to side movement and snuck the left hook in brilliantly and constantly..
Alot of people said that urango had the fifth..And i'll admit that he was the more effective puncher in that round and most of his output was power punches mostly to the body..But even still he wasnt incredibly busy..
I disagree at some peoples claims that hatton slowed down and clinched as early as the firth and sixth..
And i felt that when he did start to clinch fairly often that i could allow it since he wasnt clinchin for prolonged periods of time and was getting out of the clinch with body punches..
Anyone who thought that was a true clinchfest has blatently never seen felix trinidad-hector camacho
    lol..
Frankly i think something was wrong in the later rounds..I heard billy graham saying some wild things to ricky in the corner after the later rounds..Something like fuck winning these last rounds just get through..And something like just stay in there and last these rounds..
I wonder has anything been said about what caused ricky to slow down late?
But also i cant hold the late rounds against ricky since it was obvious he was lasting in there and cruising through anything urango could give him..And he was having some sort of problems and he fought a smart enough fight...

Has there been any news from hatton regarding the late rounds?

If Rick punched Urango's head into the crowd people on here would say Urango was born with a birth defect LOL

Who really cares what the haters say??

i agree with ya tito_bhb mate. it seems like a lot of boys were watching a different fight from me on saturday. mind you i was smashed but i taped it and watched it again on sunday afternoon. urango seemed strong though, and a hard bastard aswell. ricky didnt seem to budge him really. mind you if he tried the same tactics of round 1 to 6 for the rest of the fight he might have done

I hate repetin meself...but here goes:

Hatton started running out of gas at about the 6th maybe 7th it became obvious.

Urango was tearing his ribs to pieces & ripping him with uppers also.

Sure Hatton was looking b-e-a-utiful for the first part of the fight...but Urango was shelling up pretty well too. The kid had a strategy & it was going well...even though most thought he was getting dominated...he was holding up well...Hatton got cracked on two shots that I thought woulda killed him.

Personally...I think that it was the opponent. Urango very well (from that showing) could have been Hatton's tuffest opponent even over Kostya. Yeah. Laugh all you want...but put it into perspective...the kid had one hell of a chin, he could kick harder than a gotdam mule, & he was young & ready to go.

Sorry folksies...but this YANK thinks that the critique is unfounded & again...I aint a Hatton fan.

    They both done good.

Christ almighty I just took up for Hatton...the world will end on Friday.
Now...all that being said...Hatton done fight. He gutted it out & made the fight happen. THing is...I still think that Urango sucks...but he coulda been there 100% that fight & that makes all the difference.

Praise Hatton instead of slamming him...he's one of me least favorite fighters & that was a great showing in my book. He took a hellacious several vollies to the ribbage & made it through.

    I'm proud of him.

Well said Tito totally agree with ya. It wasnt vintage Hatton but in my opinion he only lost one round and boxed a clever fight smothering Urangos shots. Yes he took his foot off the gas in the later rounds but why not he was well ahead. As for the Castillo fight I thought he was lucky to get the win, so bring on Castillo cause if he fights like he did on Saturday night then it will be the Hitman ripping his body come fight night!!

Hope its not the same Castillo that fought (and nearly lost) on saturday night. Hatton would destroy him even if hatton had a bad night (again)

He's shown that he can be very cute with it, which holds up very well gainst Castillo, who many see as the more educated pressure fighter..

That would explain the slow of pace.. If there was damage and trouble with breathing..

Yes yes..It sounds like excuses..But there must be a reason for a slow and painful late showing from a man ive personally watched go all out for fifteen strait rounds.. Ive been gobsmacked by the mans workouts..And im pretty sure theres some adrenaline coming through on fight night that he just cant get bashing around with graham in a manc gym..
Especially when hatton finally hit vegas and after a tough showing against collazo really wanted to put on a show..

To wacko.. I think hatton was slightly discouraged and settled down into making it through the fight and wasnt terribly worried about getting too injured..There was something wrong..And urango is a big bloke.. But Hey..If you can win rounds and smother a guy while not taking damage in the process..Fair play to hatton..

As far as castillo destroying hatton..No i fully expect a great fight to last till late or go the distance..
Castillo has never been down only stopped..Perhaps even the stoppage was unfair..
Hatton went down once on a flash punch.. And came back to dominate a decision over magee..
I dont think there is any budging of either fighter unless serious injury comes into play..
Hatton has entirely too much heart to have let some punches that hurt his body slow him down and stop him fighting his fight without it bieng a true problem..

Cc's none the less for your replies..
    Peace

Hatton couldn't destroy Urgango, and he's gonna destroy JLC, yeah right. Also, Castillo did not nearly lose, far from it, I had him winning it 116-112, and did not listen to HBO's babblings. The JLC who fought Chico the second time, beat PBF's ass the first time, beat the hell outtta Juan Lazcana as well as Julio Diaz, will show up and he'll do the same to British Troll.
