Default WITTER IS BETTER THAN HATTON imo.

    Here's my rant

No two ways about it imo...Witter is the in form man between him and Hatton at present and he's fighting arguably the better opponents and beating them in a better fashion.
He is by far the better skilled boxer of the two and proved that (again) on Saturday night with a top display imo.
Hatton needs to get his act together if the Castillo fight is happening because people are becoming more and more sceptical in the US with every fight now and i for one am seriously begining to doubt whether his heart is really still in this game.
He's a multi millionare and his stamina is looking shocking with every fight now.
An all action fighter like Ricky cannot keep up these full on displays for much longer and it's starting to show.
All he did in the last 6 rounds was hit and wrestle and it was tedious to watch and Billy Graham encouraging him to Hold and Con the public between rounds was something i never thought i'd hear him say.
Poor peformance imo and he maybe needs to consider if Graham should be f*cked off out of it so he can move on..(Freddy Roach?)
On that display Cotto and Mayweather would ruin him with ease, whereas i see Witter giving those two far more problems on his current form.
He's a slick operater is Witter and i am and always have been a huge fan of him,And don't anyone get me wrong i'm a huge Hatton fan but i'm slowly losing respect for him purely by the way he's starting to perform.

Just my opinion but would be cool to hear your's so fire away.

Oh and before anyone says "But he's fighting Castillo etc"
Castillo is shot and anyone who knows boxing will agree
Means absolutely f*ck all to me even if he does win because it's simply a huge payday imo

I said just before the Tszyu fight that I wondered how many more times Ricky could operate at that pace for 12 rounds - looks like I was right to question it. Just not sold on Witter though

can see where you coming from Smash but everybody has a bad day at the office - Ricky just may have had two together

I haven't been overly impressed by Witter of late either to be honest - or Castillo in his last two bouts and I agree he is shot and looking for one mor pay day

Would hate to think that Ricky's peak was against Tszyu though that night in Mancheste - but I don't think he has much left in the tank. Two or three more fights and I think that could be it for the Hitman. Would rather see him fight Witter than Castillo, would be great for a big domestic showdown but I doubt very much it will happen. Someone like Mayweather or Cotto though could bring out the best in him but the stamina certainly is a worry - Mayweather would have creamed him on Saturday night with that performance

How would Ricky's record look without the scalp of Tszyu on there ??

Don't bully fat kids - they've got enough on their plate

Honestly...I think Witter's an okay boxer...he aint complete...then again neither is Hatton...but to contradict meself once again...only seen a handful of Witter fights.

I thought that Hatton looked brilliant in the first 5 but after that body shot from Urango...Hatton went on the defensive & NO ONE has ever backed Hatton down...cept Collazo...& even he weren't that effective...not as Urango. Had Collazo had Urango's crack...Hatton'd be back in Briton nursing his wounds via a head cast.

Agreed...but he'll kill Castillo. Castillo's to battle tested & shop worn.

That body shot woulda leveled anyone...seriously...it crippled Rick for the rest of the fight. I was shocked.

Which I hate to say...is all he could do...Ricky aint known for being an outside craftsman...that's all he had, IWO. No offense.

Again...no offense...but I'm just in the minority in thinking it wasn't that bad of a showing & I was impressed with both Hatton & Urango...shocked really.

Have ALWAYS said PBF has way too much for him mate..Always.
Cotto is untested as yet but i think he gives Hatton a trip to school on Hattons current form (and it's not just the Urango fight is it?)

i agree on hattons current form he would struggle with cottos body shots but on other hand has cotto ever took some hard body shots i havent seen all his fights someone will have to tell me but i have seen cotto shook up by torres bad and corley

i wanna no reasons why people think a man who was nearly knocked down by de marcus corley and was knocked down by a man who couldnt get anywhere near mike arnutis or however u spell it could stand up to a hatton attack?
im talking about cotto if you hadnt guessed
i really cant think of any

    To quote the Wackster

"That body shot woulda leveled anyone...seriously. ..it crippled Rick for the rest of the fight. I was shocked."
Your not alone mate That crippled him big time and he never recovered and did not want another one of those to come thumping in.

    To answer ICB
Agree that Cotto is largely untested against the elite but he bangs way harder than Hatton and is a better boxer so i gotta side with him if they met.

One thing that 100% hindered Hatton in his defence was the 10oz gloves.
Graham was worried about him using them ie getting his body shots into those tight places etc and they came up to his elbows ffsakes

Witter did a good job on Saturday, but lets not get carried away with his oposition, that guy just scrapped into contention for the title and he was very poor, several leagues out of his depth, great chin though.

With Regards to Ricky's performance I am now pretty pleased with what he did in there. He boxed beautifully for the first four rounds and then got hit with a thunderbolt and it made him change tack. Before he had come out and said it himself I was sceptical, now that I know different I have no problem with him seeing off the final few frames the way that he did.
When God said to the both of us "Which one of you wants to be Sugar Ray?" I guess I didnt raise my hand fast enough

Herman Ngoudjo - sub-par performance yes, you are correct in criticizing it, but against Rolando Reyes he dominated that fight took all twelve in my card, just had a low blow deduction.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.
