Default LET THE HYPE MACHINE BEGIN !!!!!

(sigh) Here we go again. De La Hoya-Mayweather, 24/7, The Series.

More hype than all the pre-game Super Bowls, all rolled up into one. By the time we get to fight time, and by the time the networks get through with it, this will be billed as:
"The Greatest Sporting Event the World Has Ever Known."

With the winner (especially if it's Oscar) being bestowed the title of:
"The Greatest P4P Anything in the History of the Planet."

Gotta hand it to my man, Oscar. He chose to fight the consensus current p4p, who is a "little-to-no KO threat" to Oscar, at a weight Oscar handles better than Floyd (and worse than other legitimate 154-pounders). In other words, it's a:

    WIN-WIN SITUATION FOR OSCAR.

As a betting man, I'd put my money on Oscar (especially if it goes to the judges cards, in which case it's a done deal). As a boxing fan, I'll be rooting for PBF to dump Oscar on his Golden A$$.

Can't wait for this fight man... Oscar has the power and size and the fact that he is at a more natural weight too, but I keep getting this feeling that Floyd, under the brightest lights of his career, will put on a performance that will drop peoples mouths. Either way, the anticipation is killing me...

Is that why he beat Tito & SSM twice when he went the distance with them?

Well, the judges learned how to get it right by the time he fought and "beat" Sturm.

So what are the chances of them getting it wrong this time?

I don't think you and or I really know.....

One is a LITM (Legend in the Making). The other is grudgingly given the p4p, but is widely DISliked. If the decision is anywhere near close, I'd bet my right arm the Golden Boy would get the nod.

Thanks man, good job combining them.
Lets not let this thread degenerate into a 'history of corruption' discussion, we've heard it all before.
The only comparitive fight I can compare the Mayweather fight to with Oscar is his fight with Pernell Whitaker... but Oscar was in or around his prime then while Pernell was slightly on the slide. I still thought Pernell took it, but I thought it was closer than some people believe. Will be interesting to see if Floyd can maintain his speed and reflexes at light middleweight, surprised he didn't take a tune up to test the water there first...

People need to remember too that Oscar is the champion and PBF is the challenger going into this fight. If it is a very very close fight like i think it Will be Oscar should get the benefit of the doubt. PFF has to take the belt from him and not run around and hope that it lands in his lap, which i would not be surprised to see him do.

all that you've go to beat the champ easily stuff aint right mate 3 judges score the fight round by round only advantage the champs got is if its a draw then he keeps the belt

Im thinking it is going to be a SD or MD in favor of Floyd. But i definately thin it will be contoversial as the Whitaker fight

I think Zab Judah put it best on FNF....

If they stay in the middle of the ring where Floyd can move around it will be his fight...But if DLH can catch him on the ropes or make Floyd try to go toe to toe Floyd will get KO'd....This whole fight is based on Mayweathers speed....Oscars left will also be a big factor if he lands it often enough PBF will go to sleep

It's a pick'em fight for me. Oscar will enjoy a huge natural weight advantage, he's a great boxer himself and will have never been more up fora fight than this.

Apart from his KO loss to Bernard Hopkins Oscar has always delivered. All of his other losses were very competative fights and I don't see this being any different.
