    Default Diego Corrales vs Clottey

This was just announced on fightnews. Diego Corrales is moving up TWO WEIGHT DIVISIONS to fight Clottey at 147. I know Corrales had trouble making weight at 135 but welterweigh? Most of the people at the top of that division are BIG welterweights that show up 160 pounds.

I wanna see Corrales have a Roberto Duran like next chapter in his career but something about this just smells like an impending disaster.

CC for that, should be agreat fight. I don't see Corrales winning though,Clottey's handspeed is too fast and unless Diego carries EVERY BIT of his power with him,its going to be a long night! He should have had an easier warm up!

Corrales isn't one of my favorite fighters but damn, he will fight anybody. Not saying Clottey's some kind of monster, but he's a very tough fight for a guy moving up two weight divisions.

And Corrales is looking kinda past it lately, I'm surprised his management didn't try to find him a softer first fight, maybe he just insisted on it, I don't know.

First off Coralles has said he will never ever fight Shane as they are best friends.

Secondly I saw Corrales on Friday Night Fights the other week and man he looks so much healthier now he's got some meat on him. He actually has a round face now with cheeks.

It really reminds me of Morales. Morales when not fighting is a strong looking, handsome (sorry for my gay attack VD) guy but come fightnight he looked like Skelator.

I really hope Coralles has success against Clottey. Good luck to him because he truly never ducks anybody and will fight anybody, even hs wife if need be.

Man, I like Diego Corrales but he is not going to have much success against a big strong welterweight. Clottey is not going to get hurt against just about anyone and Corrales must hurt his opponent to win because he fights shot for shot only. I like Corrales but I hate that his heart is too big for his body. This is not a good first fight. This may get ugly.

    LOL. CC

Corrales won't be successful moving up in weight. The guys who can move up and be successful are good boxers who can avoid getting hit. Corrales stands in and brawls, trading punch for punch. Considering that he wasn't successful with this against top fighters at 130 or 135, it would be very surprising for him to do it at 147, which is a very talented division.

Clottey is a beast. Honestly, I think he can bang and he is a pretty good boxer to boot. Busy boxer, picks his spots well, just a solid fighter. I would love to see him and Paul Williams go at it. This should be a good TV win for Clottey but it will be fun while it last.

The thing that goes in Corallesfavour though is that he so tall he will still be big even for a welterweight. He looked unhealthily thin at 135 and at 147 he might suddenly be a revelation.

I'm not overly hopeful but it would be great for boxing if Coralles can live amongst the great welterweights out there as you just know he will be up for fighting the best and only the best.

Coralles is one of boxing's most exciting fighters and could replace Gatti if he's strong for the weight.

If I was moving up to the welterwieght division I would claim that Sugar Shane was my best friend too.......along with Cotto. We are a trio of good pals.

I'll tell you this, if Chico looks really good against Clottey, Margarito is gonna have alot of explaining to do.

Actually there were other times I agreed with you but they were topics that I just didn't post in. I didn't need to cause you had it under control and made the points I would have made already but here's a cc on me.
