to be honest he doesn't have to justify it................he's free to do what he likes with his carreer, if he feels he still wants to fight then its down to him, many fighters in worse poss have got back into the ring ( joe messi, tom morrison etc etc) so as long as he's got a clean bill of health, ok upstairs and can win the odd fight

having said that i felt he may have retired after 20 defences, i'd like him to retire so his legacy doesn't get damaged

i think thats between him and his mum so i dont really care. i would like to see him carry on fighting. i know he's 41 and whatever but he is a young 41 because he lives clean and hasnt really had any wars and hasnt shown any signs of slowing down or showing his age. against tarver he looked awesome. he could still bring us a lot of good fights.

Sometimes you have to tell people what they want to hear.
It was a little white lie to try and appease her.
What about all the lies this current administration has been telling us?
This should be more of a concern than a lie from B-Hop.

Mrs. Hopkins now rests in peace.
    Amen.

At one time he said he'd - never break the promise, he can't do it

To an extent everyone's a hypocrite, right?

And missing out on earning millions of dollars just to keep a promise must be a pretty hard decision...for some.

I just don't really think it's something that matters.. Hopkins isn't a dumb fighter who's going to stick around after he can't fight at the top level, I don't see why it's really a big issue or gripe for anyone...

Not to mention I wouldn't much like to hear his answer.. "Bernard Hopkins is going to fight on longer because Bernard Hopkins mother speaks to Bernard Hopkins every night through Jesus and she tells Bernard Hopkins that he can fight on so that his legacy will be Bernard Hopkins legacy, the way Bernard Hopkins wanted to do it and only Bernard Hopkins could do it."

Long as he can still box with the best of them and take practically no punishment, why not stick around?
