Default Cornelius "K9" Bundrage Contender star

What do you think about K9 Bundrage who made a fantastic showing last night at the UK v USA contender.

He has moved up 18 places in his ranking and now number 15 in the light middleweight rankings according to www.boxrec.com

He was recently quoted after his fight against Chris Smith that he'll go from strength to strength and he also came 3rd in the second series of the contender USA.

What do u think about him if you've seen him fight.

From what I have seen and read of him, imo he is limited. I think he will be a good journeyman, who will come up with an upset here and there if he is overlooked. I dont see him being a major contender thou.

K-9 has some real pop in his shot, the sounds were probably real, he can throw some bombs...its just connecting clean that is the problem. He showed me alot in the Chris Smith fight, he was hurt a little and recovered brilliantly. If you watched that fight you would have heard the same THWACK sound. The boy throws some heavy leather. He may be lacking in some skills and a little muscle-bound, but I like the guy. I think he has a bright future at light middleweight.

Bundrage is actually one of those guys that fights for his family...IMO if he had a decent trainer and a good team behind him the guy could actually go somewhere

Yeah he's not too tall thats for sure. The thing with K9 is though is that 70% of his bodyweight is in his arms, they are freaking huge!

If he had regular boxer's arms he'd probably be fighting at bantamweight :P

    For sure Daxx - he's definitely a prize-fighter.

If those big pay cheques were dangled, i'm sure he'd die in the ring (figaritively speaking)

He'd make some interesting match-ups - Jamie Moore would be a good little fight?

you guys must be seeing something that I am not. I just dont think he has that great of a future, he just looks very limited to me. A good trainer would help him out (good trainer would help any boxer out). I think his best possibilities for a belt are some of the small belts NABF, NABA, NABO, USBA, and maybe the IBA or IBO belts. I dont see him getting much higher than any of these.

It was said he came in bone dry to this fight.

    I think he is sloppy.

The guy has heart,,,He has power,,and he is willing...Willing is a big thing for fighters some people do not realize,,,Bundrage want's to improve...some guys think it is an insult to learn something new...that is why I said if he had a good trainer willing to work with him a bit...Composure,,a little defense,,,,The kid might do something....

And hey there is no shame in winning any of those belts you mentioned.....

Never said a top P4P guy just someone who could make some noise is all

You are right there is no shame in any of those belts. He does seem like a nice guy, but IMO he looks very limited, to me, it seems that all those muscles work against him. But hopefully a new trainer can tune up his boxing skills and he can make some noise.
