I had it 115-112 for Hill as well. I thought it was a bad decision, but I'd have to go back and rewatch the fight to firmly say that he was robbed and.... well frankly, I really don't want to... for obvious reasons haha.

Any American fighter knows that when you fight overseas you have to do more than enough to win. Thats why Hill didnt complain about the decision and it was very close.Hill said he wants a rubber match and Maske said "We will talk about it in 10 years Virgil." Maske didnt get an immediate rematch because he retired right after their first fight, idiot.

I've seen it, and to be honest it could have gone either way, i scored it to Maske 116-114 but really it was a bit crap and i don't really care.

I watched it but didn't pay much attention. I was certainly convinced Maske had won though, as did he and the entire German crowd. He was held aloft, the crowd went wild and everyone was celebrating as soon as the bell sounded.

Hill had the look of a beaten man.

To be honest I only really paid attention after Hill got cut in round 8 I believe. From then on Maske clearly won the fight.

Also what the fuck was the ref doing? He called the cut an accidental clash of heads and then docked a point from Maske

Even worse the replay showed that if anyone was to blame it was Hill himself he came from a crouching position and rose up onto Maske's forehead, no way was it Maske's fault?

    Can anyone find the clip?

The german commentator quoted some obscure rule that when an accidental clash of heads happens
and then one of the boxers get a cut and therefore is handicapped the other boxer gets a point
    deducted to even the odds...

Never heard of that one though...

And btw...yeah Maske won the fight,if Hill would have pressured more in the first three rnds he might
have knocked Maske out,but he did way too little...

Hill is one of the most skillful fighters to come out of his olympic stable but he fought in someone else's turf.

Anyone suggestion that Hill was robbed are completely out of boxing. Even Hill himself said after the fight that Maske was the better man that night.

The biggest robbery in this fight was that Hill was not taken any points from using his head as a third fist without glove.

That thing about the cut used to be an official WBC rule. It's the rule that allowed Ricardo Lopez to get a draw in the first fight with Alvarez. I never had a big issue with it because of fights like that. Lopez had to fight a few rounds with a bullet wound on his head and I'm sure it effected him.

It's meant to discourage "subtle" headbutters like Holyfield and Casamayor.

Yeah but someone can lead with their head or even intentionally butt, and if they end up with the cut and the ref rules it accidental then the fighter at fault can end up with an extra point. It really is a bad rule.
