I've said it before and I'll say it again, the Ronaldo of the mid 90's that played for PSV Eindhoven and Barcelona was the greatest striker I have ever seen. The only other striker I would compare to him was a prime Marco Van Basten... but Ronaldo was still a shade better in my opinion. He had it all!

Have a CC in return man!
Ronaldo was almost superhuman in the mid 90's... lightning speed, great strength & balance, amazing dribbling & control, the usual vast array of Brazilian skills & vision, good in the air and the ability to strike with perfection off either foot. What more could you ask for?
All you have to do is look at his scoring stats:
    PSV Eindhoven 1994 - 1996 : 42 goals in 46 matches
    Barcelona 1996 - 1997 : 34 goals in 37 matches

Hugo Sanchez was a legend as well... his golden years were just slightly before my time, but the footage I have seen of him makes me jealous of those that witnessed him during those years. Sanchez was an out and out goal scoring machine!

I hope I am not jumping to a conclusion here, but you're Mexican right? Just wanted to ask your opinion on Giovanni Dos Santos... I have been following him since I saw him blitz the under-17 World Cup with Mexico in 2005 and I reckon that kid is going to be something special. Can't be too long before he makes a splash with the Barcelona first team... looks like another Messi! I hear his younger brother Jonathan is crazy talented too (He is with the Barcelona youths right now).

Yeah! man his numbers are in sane and the Barcelona is the one that just stands out at you cause you gotta think how many great names have played there Romario, Johan, Maradona, Stoichkov, Kliuvert, Dinho.....

Very under rated IMO when people talk about soccer greats his names SHOULD be mentioned, and I wont argue the fact that he falls a bit short when comparing all aspects as far as him not having a World Cup but the sh*t! he did on the pitch and what he accomplished in Mexico & Europe forget it man! it speaks volumes...

Kids got a sh*t load of talent, good vision on the pitch hes always aware of his surroundings and to me thats a plus for a player as young as he is. From what I've read he loves to practice he always has a ball no matter where he goes... Barcas holding back on him a bit but I mean they have Messi, Saviola, Eto'o & Gudjohnson how do you choose.

His younger bro still needs a lot of work, you can still see the kid in him and wont be ready for years..... He plays well for the level hes at and certainly you can see hes got something special going on there.

    Yep!
Goals that most other players would consider "once in a lifetime scores", Ronaldo scored those type of goals for fun on a regular basis.
That is what set him apart... no matter where he got the ball on the pitch, he was always dangerous and capable of the seemingly impossible.
From recent times the likes of Romario, Batistuta, Shearer, Raul, Baggio and Henry were/are all great... but Ronaldo was in a class of his own. He was all of those combined in to one freak of nature! It might be some time before we see a player, let alone striker like him again!
