Undoubtedly, 100% Mos Def. Not only is he perhaps the best rapper on the poll, but the best actor aswell.

Eminem is a lyrical monster and in his 1 role he performed respectively imo. He wasn't a great actor but it wasn't like his acting inexperience took away from the movie like 50 Cent did in Get Rich or Die Trying.

Cube isn't bad just always plays the same role.

Ice-T is the same way but I like him better as an actor then I do rapper.

    L.L. Cool J acts?

Mos has been acting since he was 5 and you would never know he was a rapper watching him act. Realy head and shoulders above the rest imo.

Queen Latifah is awesome. Got the In Livin Color DVD's and she's on it a bunch funny to see how she's gone from what she was in 92 as a raper to a classy looking actress in 06.

Aside from Bones which was honestly a terrible movie, don't think I've seen Snoop act.

Tupac comes in second imo. He's a guy like Em and Mos who you know put his heart and soul into everthing he did including act and it really showed through. Gang Related kicked serious ass with him and Jim Belushi.

Will Smith is a good actor who sells about a billion movie tickets each tiime out. I want to see Pursuit of Happyness.

Snoop was in Bones, Training Day, Baby Boy, The Wash...

    I voted Pac.

Poetic Justice w/ Janet was the sh*t! . His role in Juice was that good IMO, and potrayed the role to a tee.

Second would be a 3 way tie for me with Will, Mos & Latifah all 3 have tremendous skills and can just flat out act.

Will sh*t! from Fresh Prince to The Pursuit of Happyness has delighted the screens allover the world for years.
Latifah sh*t! I think the ONLY reason why I liked Moulan ROuge was cause of her.... How can you not like her role in Set it Off...
Mos Def this dude if all goes well for him I see an Oscar for him taking that he goes a straigh and he gets the right roles.

From then on I would say EM, Cube, LLCoolJ & Ice T.

they say TUPAC's performance in JUICE was the first rapper to really open doors up for all other rappers. critics were so impressed with his performance as the psycho menacing Bishop that he could of gone on to do any role he pleased and given up a rap career.

IMO tupac as Bishop was BANNANAS! i saw like a CULT LEADER in his performance man, that was mad PASSION and HEART he put into that character!

Gridlock'd with Tupac and Tim Roth is one of the best underrated movies out there. Anyone who hasn't seen it needs to do so.

I vote for LL and I would vote for Will Smith because he's good too.

50, Eminem, Snoop, Tupac, Cube, and Ice T are all the people Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson SHOULD be after but if you pick on rappers then you pick on the "hip hop culture" and of course people have the right to artistically express the views of their culture.

Will Smith is by far the best actor on the list but many will put him no where up there with the rap list. His music was very popular in the late 80's but he after he hit the fresh prince show his music was real close to being pop music. Still when it comes to the combination he is just too good of an actor not to be number 1.

this is slightly off topic but initially like when Black Starr came out and stuff i think everyone pretty much liked and preferred Mos Def over Talib as an emcee/performer/entertainer what have you, but as both of their careers developed obviously in different directions/paths and success. i gravitated more and more to liking TALIB over MOS DEF actually. i think its cuz the more MOS DEF sold out and became more mainstream and commercial i kinda lost respect for him even in his flows and lyrical content and skills even skills have diminished in my view. not entirely or even greatly, but significantly. while talib remained REAL, street, and especially more so political. dont get me wrong i LOVE both of them fo sho! but talib in my eyes still remained true and REAL to me.

Mos Def didn't sell out, he tried out a new sound. He spotlighted Black Jack Johnson, and really tried something musically DIFFERENT and The New Danger didn't really pan out well. It had it's spots but it wasn't selling out, he didn't really try the mainstream persona he already had it with his acting, just listen to The Rape Over, it's the same Mos on the mic. Katrina Klap was better then anything Talib has done in the past few years with the Beautiful Struggle, that one he put out with Ms. Hill and Supreme Supreme on it was cool but other then that, he is still on about this "freedom" term that he refuses to define.

Talib is annoying as fuck to me sometimes. He's always talking about this vague "freedom" thing, refuses to define it. He slams major labels then pulls the same label bullshit with his Blacksmith deal preventing the guy from SAS from releasing his mixtape? WTF? Then potshots Jay for pushing Kingdom Come back, yet Eardrum was supposed to be out months ago and now it's coming out in June? Fuck that, the singles aren't even that good, especially that Hearsay one, that was worse then anything on Tru3 Magic. And Mos didn't even hype that up like Talib is doing.

I still like Talib and remains a top 5 favorite rapper but he's annoying as shit at the moment. He always does this off the wall stuff, and it irks me.

Common has more stage prescence then anyone. Common is honestly the best show out there. Came to the Newark Pavillion once when I was a Freshman, and then I saw Talib the next weekend in San Jose and even with Talib working thousands and Common no more then 500, Common brought the place down. Honestly. And Like Water for Chocolate is an ATG album.

Mos is my favorite of all time though, never seen him live though.
