Default Miranda: I'm sorry; I'll be back!

Pantera reveals weight problems, may return at 168

It was a disappointing Saturday night in Memphis for middleweight contender Edison 'Pantera' Miranda as he suffered the first clear loss of his career to Kelly Pavlik. But Miranda vows to be back in the ring and better than ever in the future. "I’m sorry to all my fans for my performance on Saturday night," said the gracious Miranda. "I let you down, but know that I tried my best with what I had to win the fight.

    Ah the classic story.

Boy starts boxing, boy is big puncher, boy knocks everyone out, boy becomes bully, boy challenges brave fighter who stands up to bully, brave boxer beats down bully, bully blames weight,

Yeah but then the kid says

"To Kelly Pavlik, congratulations on your win; it was an honor to be in the ring with a warrior who thinks and fights like you do, and I hope we can fight again in the future."

At least that is what the interpreter said

Miranda probably hasn't been able to speak since he's had his jaw in traction and is semi conscious in hospital

He has the talent to come back, Terry Norris got rocked early in his career by Julian Jackson came back to have a great career, then he got rocked by Simon Brown and came back and was great again, this is not the end for Miranda, but we will see how focused he is.

It's funny how someone with a name like that comes here and seemingly makes serious post. It makes me think it's a guest who has been reading RBR's, otherwise they would just be spamming. Kind of weird.

Anyways, Miranda looked bone dry from what little I've seen from the fight. Weight definitely did take it's toll imo, but Pavlik would have beat him at 162 too, so long as he wasn't scared, he was going to win.

But 168 is the place for him, maybe he can face Allan Green again and KO him this time. Then work his way back up and fight Jeff Lacy, and have to give this speech all over again

It's funny you say that, I have been reading the forum for about a year on advice from my brother, and have learned alot, now its time to live out my sportswriter fantasies. Anyway I don't think Miranda would have to work his way up to fight Lacy. They are ready for that fight this year, both need to turn their careers around.

So you just chose the name....because? haha

Anyways, after 1 fight Lacy will be at the top again. He has top flight skills no doubt, just has had a run of bad luck and lost to a GREAT fighter and choked while doing so.

I see Miranda going the Sam Peter route, fighting some no hopers to get his confidence up and hopefully take off some of that roughness. His luster is now gone, nobody is going to crumble in front of him just because he snaps his fingers. It's like what Peter went through. So he has got to get better and get that confidence back up. He might struggle a bit but it happens.

Guys like Joel Julio, Kermit Cintron and Samuel Peter have all went through this. They were the next big thing, then when they got in the ring with someone who didn't back down, they were left to pick up the pieces and get better. So far, all those 3 have gotten significantly better and now Miranda is left to do the same thing.

Fair enough. I didn't know if it was those early body shots or if he was a little drained. Either way it was a great fight and I still think Miranda can come back.

I thought they both weighed in at 171 at the night of the fight.

HMM...I got a question....did Wacko take that bet they posted some time ago where if DLH losed he would have to change his name and make a new account?? Anybody remember that?
