Did you see how Arum was looking at Pavlik after the fight, he looked like a proud pappa. I may talk crap about Bob but he knows boxing and takes care of buisness.
I'm going with Taylor on points. Please don't ask me to justify this with theory. I'm too depressed with Jermaine right now to do so.
Now I'm a Kelly Pavlik nut hugger(Kelly Pavlik #1) he's going to wipe the floor of him, inside a round. No, a minute actually.
Remember the good old days, we miss you Marco!
Due to the fact that Taylor aint as wide open as a barn door in the middle of summer...I voted Pavlik by decision.Originally Posted by Lucifer's Infection

Good thread Dukey.

+1 for Lucifer and +1 for you wacko this is the third time in three days. I think that Pavlik has the better chin than Taylor. I believe that Pavlik swats alot harder too. We all know he respects the sport more than Taylor and hopefully Pavlik is the type of new wave of fighters. Hopefully the sun is just beginning to crest the horizon of a new wave and generation of young boxers. He showed great class. And if any of you guys are familiar with my posts , I'm all about class. I love classy fighters.Originally Posted by wacko3205

Very true, Wacko.

There's no way Pavlik is gonna go through Jermaine Taylor like he did Miranda. Those are two totally different fighters. I think Taylor is a lot like Holyfield in how he fights up to the level of his opponents and a lot of times the ones that tend to not bring the fight right to him, that play more defense, that stay more elusive; they make for much more boring performances; he does what he needs to win the fight, but not much more. And he gets the job done. Until now maybe? I don't think so. Kelly Pavlik's style lends itself in a way to Taylor's in that he will bring the fight to him. The Ghost has all the size and the tools to make it a rough night for Bad Intentions too, if he retreats like Miranda, trades brainlessly (although in the exchanges expect JT to connect A LOT more than Miranda did in his exchanges...oftenwhich were awful sometimes 5:1 punch deficits to Kelly Pavlik...JT is a lot more accurate and smarter than Miranda ever will be as a boxer), but I expect Taylor to make it a lot more defensive and look for that big counter right. To maximize the effectiveness of this game plan though, he's gotta make use of the jab; he's gotta listen to Manny Steward because he's gonna need the jab big time to set range and dictate the distance and pace of the fight. If he does this, he can find Pavlik's rhythm and take control of the fight. A big danger to J.T. is his tiring late and backing up to the ropes. As we all saw during last Saturday's destruction of El Pantera, this is where The Ghost from Youngstown is most dangerous. Close, but I say Jermaine Taylor by decision in a really exciting fight. I can't wait to see if it will really happen like they say it will...

Here's the thing...I'm a huge fan of the middleweight division & a vast majority of her fighters. Always have been.Originally Posted by southakron314

Truthfully...the Jermain Taylor with Pat Burns in his corner...the Jermain Taylor prior to the Hopkins win...prior to the draw with Wright...prior to the two matches against two blown up light middles...that Jermain will always be in the back of my mind & if he could remotely begin to be that Jermain again...I wouldn't think twice about hoping back in his corner.
Now I know that sounds bad coming from Wacko. I know that it's a 360 degree spin of me loving values & devotion to me fighters...but Jermain busted Wacko's bubble a few years back & the way he keeps under performing...he's just adding insult to injury. I'm pretty much disgusted with him.
While Kelly's a good fighter & he did show out against Miranda...I really really want to see a showdown between the two of them.
Maybe he can work it out & maybe not...but one way or another...if they do fight...one of them will make an actual fight of it.
Honestly...I'd love to see Pavlik come out on top. Lightening strike me down...I really do.
Pavlik's been on the back burner long enough & he's been toiling in obscurity for just this very moment.
I believe that he'll shine like a new penny & thus bring the best out of Taylor.

I think Pavlik should have about three more fights against some top ten contention fighters before he fights Taylor, But right now..Pavlik has a punchers chance, Also this would be the biggest puncher that Taylor has fought to date................ So If I had to pick, I say Pavlik by late ko.
