Arthur lined up for Khan clash
World title hope Alex Arthur is being lined up for a future clash with Amir Khan.
The potential domestic superfight would be part of promoter Frank Warren's plan to pit his stable stars against each other in a series of blockbusting matches.
Warren wants to recreate the glory days when Nigel Benn, Chris Eubank, Steve Collins and Michael Watson produced huge TV audiences, but this time between featherweight and lightweight.
Next up for Arthur is Georgian Koba Gogoladze for the vacant WBO super-featherweight crown on July 7 in Cardiff.
After that potential opponents include Khan, Kevin Mitchell and Nicky Cook.
Arthur told The Scotsman: "My first priority is to concentrate fully on my forthcoming world title shot against Gogoladze. But I'm aware of Frank Warren's plans for me if I become world champion.
"Quite frankly, fighting Amir Khan, Kevin Mitchell or Nicky Cook wouldn't worry me as I know I can punch harder than any of these guys. Khan has got to defeat Glasgow's Willie Limond for the Commonwealth title on July 14 and that is no means a certainty as I think Willie Limond has the style and skills to beat him.
"Khan will discover, as I did in he ring, that Limond is a quality fighter. But talk of these future fights gives me a bigger incentive now to beat Gogoladze."
