After reading this, I'll add Glen Johnson to the "Respectful Fighters" thread.
what spotlight is he talking about?![]()
"Sixty forty I kicks yo' ass, Sixty forty I tears yo' ass up" - Roy Jones
I like the guy even more now. He says Hopkins is the only guy that truely beat him, and he wants Hopkins the most. He may have somewhat of a point but come on 10 robberies? If you look at his record he really is the road warrior , fighting big name guys in their hometowns. Now that deserves alot of credit. Only ko loss was to Hopkins.
CC for the read ICE

After watching the 3rd Tarver fight, it doesn't seem like the killer instinct, or revenge factor is there. If that's the case, Johnson is the wrong guy to fight.
CC. I agree with ya. Johnson has slowed some and if Roy's head was in the right place he could beat him and pretty much anyone else out there at LH or SMW right now.Originally Posted by Unknowndonor

If Roy was smart, he would stay the hell away. Because Glen Johnson would tear him up right now. Roy Jones just isn't there anymore imo. He lays on his ropes entirely to much, his legs don't have anywhere close to the same step in them, the punches don't have the same snap and he doesn't have the will to move around anymore imo. He just lays on the ropes when pressed.
Johnson would tear him up, that is a very bad fight for Jones.
This is a stupid fight and there is no reason for it to happen. Roy can't beat him, but the stupidest thing is that Roy would have beaten him down so badly when he was younger. People say it was age that did Roy in and the lose of reflexes, but I say it was the lose of his footspeed, and punching power from dropping back down. Roy relied on keeping guys off of him and honest with his power even at heavyweight against Ruiz, but it is too draining for him to make 175 now so he can't come in as powerful as he used to.
