Default Hatton v Cotto has got to happen now....

Seriously think that Cotto would break the Hitman in two
Ricky would stand and fight and give him hell but Cotto would be far too strong imo and could even force the stoppage.
    Thoughts?

This fight would only happen at WW,and Hatton would get destroyed. At 147,Miguel is not killing himself to make weight and the effects of this are evident for all to see. Cotto tko 11. Hatton can't fight going backwards either so he would jsut stand there and trade, something which very very few can do with Miguel Cotto.

Do you really think Ricky would stand there and trade? Come on, Ricky is not just a come forward fighter who throws shots to the body, im not saying Ricky would win far from it, but if you think he would satnd toe to toe with Cotto you are mistaken.

Well, from what I have seen, that is his basic style. The only time he tried to box recently,v Urango, and he looked awkward. I don't see Hatton's boxing skills being effective v Cotto if Zab's werent.

At WW cotto would stop Hatton late..the only way i see Hatton having achance is if the fight happens at JWW. Personally, i dont think the fight will ever happen

I dont know, i can see this happening, I think Cotto could well be to strong, but everyone has to remember Hatton had seven weeks to prepare to go to 147 so we cant judge that performance on how he would do at 147 again, he needs a tune up at 147 and full camp to see what he can do, becasue lets be honest whats at 140?? All teh money and big fights are at 147, i mean the biggest fight at 140 is Hatton v Castillo and even that isnt box office. I think theres only one way for Hatton to go and thats up to 147 after Castillo, which makes the Cotto fight more realistic.

Cotto would stop Hatton if Hatton thought Urangos body shots were tough he is going to be in trouble against Cotto.

NO way in hell this fight ever happens lol, no freaking way will team hatton ever put ricky in the ring with Cotto...

Cotto will destroy him! he is a monster at WW, in fairness ricky would be well outsized, it isn't really a fair match up... but ha if this happened hatton would get absoutly batterd!

Agree i think Hatton would make it tough but overall Cottos too big he would give Hatton a pasting.

If Hatton gets by Castillo I guarantee he will want Cotto and demand that fight next (that is unless of course his team decides to give him another one of those 3 tuneup fight schedules first).

Hatton-Castillo will HAVE to be Hatton's last fight at 140. Him not moving up to 147 with Cotto, Mosley, Margarito, and Williams would be the most shameless display of ducking in the history of the sport, and I give Hatton more credit than to be that cowardly.

All things being equal Cotto is not that much bigger than Ricky.

    Cotto 5' 7" with 67" reach
    Hatton 5' 6" with 65" reach
    Castillo 5' 8" with a 68" reach
    Urango 5' 8" with a 70" reach
    Collazo 5' 9" with a 72" reach

That's a much smaller difference than hatton has had against recent opposition.

But yeah I would be surprised if Hatton made it past the middle-rounds.

I've seen Hatton fight two ways and both involve him standing in front of the
    other guy.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.

Yeah right. The last fight he compared himself to Willie Pep.

Hatton got rocked by Luis Collazo in his only fight at 147. What chance would he have against a crushing puncher like Cotto at that weight?
