Its a shame really. Boxing could do with a fight like Cotto: Judah being out on You tube. Its hardly going to turn people away from boxing and is a great advertisement for future big fights involving both fighters and other related big names.
It's pathetic if you ask me, i mean the fight has been and gone, this can only benefit boxing and attract more fans which could inturn earn companys like HBO more revenue in the future.Originally Posted by miles

I think HBO demanded that youtube remove all their fights. However, I found and managed to watch Cotto - Judah on there a couple of days after the fight, so maybe HBO/Youtube aren't being that vigilant about it.
youtube is a great thing. There are ways to save the fight videos. Just put in save youtube videos and a site comes up and you can keep the vids. Not like having the fights on DVD or VHS but not bad.Originally Posted by CFH
TopRank has said that their copyright material is what pays most of the bills.
The sell only to large corps such as HBO and I guess HBO must have payed a pretty penny because this time they went all out and deleted a grip of videos.
All of mine are gone. Actually they just deleted my account.
It's ok. I will make more, better, stronger, faster![]()
Boxing needs to make a choice here.Originally Posted by miles
I can understand why they don't want a $50 PPV fight available for free on youtube the day after it happens... that's bad business.
But they also have to realize how much exposure the sport gets thru a site like youtube. One of boxing's big problems is that they aren't drawing lots of young viewers anymore. Having fights on youtube can help that problem, because it gives kids who don't have $50 for PPV the chance to watch fights and get interested in the sport.
If they want to pull brand new fights off youtube, that's ok, but then HBO needs to sell the replay rights to a network like ESPN or ABC. If HBO is just going to show the fight on PPV, then replay it on HBO, and keep it off youtube or network TV, then they're losing fans and money in the long run.
I tried to make the same arguments to the people at TopRank but to them it's all about money, money, money.Originally Posted by SweetPea
