Default couple more question about slipping

First off great posts about how to slip punches, they have answered a lot of my questions and i really understand the movment now,Im still a little uncertain about what to do with my hands if i understand correctly when im slipping to the outside of say a left jab i carry my left hand low to counter and bring my right hand across to protect the left side of my face and vice versa for slipping outside straight right ?does this mean that its usually better to slip and counter at the same time then come back with the other hand ?and also when slipping inside do i just keep my guard high?
I am trying to work a lot on slipping punches at the moment i always feel nice and smooth with it until i put the 14oz gloves on then i feel all clummsy, anyone else find this?

If you feel clumsy with the 14 ouncers, concentrate on using them
Also I wouldnt worry as much about changing hand position on the slip,as much as Id worry about countering off it
ie:Opponent throws left jab, slip to your right counter with a right hook it ought to be wide screaming open

If youre slipping to the right move the right foot.

If you are slipping outside a right hand- so that it goes over your right shoulder- you may choose to throw your right hand. A very effective counter. If not keep your right hand high as your opponent will most likely be coming back with a left hook.
