A lot of people on this forum say Green is a has been and not a big name opponent for Mundine's resume. But i just watched his fight against Beyer again, and the guy is simply destructive to say the least.

He was in the first Beyer fight but that was in 2003. He has never fought like that since, and was nowhere near that fighter when he fought Mundine. Yes he used to be destructive but now he seems gun shy and he gets confused by boxers with decent skills and speed. He is no more than a good challenger, a good name for mundines resume but not a BIG name.
Green is dynamite with guys who stand and trade with him. Fast boxers like Mundine, Beyer give him trouble. But he will stop Clinton Woods, maybe Tarver too if he connects.
Also he is a great guy froma great family.

A lot of people in Australia belive Danny can stop Clinton Woods at light-heavy. Green has done a lot of sparring with Julio Gonzalez in LA and is very confident.

Why Danny Green can stop Clinton Woods
The new streamline Green Machine, Danny Green is motoring down the boxing highway to a world light-heavyweight championship.
He is fully confident he has the measure of IBF champ Clinton Woods, from England.
And Green has the power to do it, according to IBF world super-featherweight champion Barry “Boy” Michael
For the first two rounds he was destructive but didn't finish the job, i think he lost round 4 and was losing 5. There is no doubt he intentially headbutted Beyer due to his frustration at not having knocked him out earlier and a poor call by the referee in round 2 over the initial headbutt when in fact it was a punch that opened up Beyer in the second round.Originally Posted by chum112
I think Green is very one dimensional and lacks alternative game plans when in trouble.
Griffin will be a test and i think he can beat him. Mundine would beat Green again in any rematch.
I give you respect for supporting your fellow countryman, but Beyer? He isnt much himself he was beaton by a limited British fighter named Catley a few years back and we saw what Kessler did to him, Green is a decent fight for anyone but he aint World Class, Woods is to sound a boxer to get beat by Green.
Marcus Beyer is very underrated because he is german and due to his fellow german friend Sven Ottke. Remember Beyer went abroad to England and defeated Richie Woodhall for his title. He floored Woodh 3 or 4 times. Against Omar Sheika he did everything to him that Jeff Lacy was NOT able to do. Beyer would box Lacy's ears off without a doubt.Originally Posted by skel1983
