Default **Results** Baloyi, Mares, Escobedo, Barrett, Numbembee, Lee and Banks

Was looking for stats on the Klitschko fight and I came across some results and thought I'd share them with 'ya...

Baloyi vs. Medina took place Thursday for the IBF SuperFeather Elimin and it ended in a draw.

    http://www.fightnews.com/boxing/bc/jackson86.htm

Ali Numbembee vs. Vladimir Borovski - After defeating the heavy favored prospect Kevin Anderson, Ali returns with a UD win over 6 rds. Tho it's obvious this was a gimmie fight still thought I'd point it out.

Abner Mares vs. Saul Gutierrez - Unbeaten 2004 Olympian bantamweight Abner Mares (13-0, 8 KOs) was taken the six round route by unheralded Saul Gutierrez (3-10-1, 1 KO). Scores were 57-56, 59-54, 58-55.

Vicente Escobedo vs. Carlos Diaz - 2004 Olympian junior welterweight Vicente Escobedo (14-1, 12 KOs) outpointed Carlos Diaz (9-10-4, 7 KOs) over ten by scores of 98-92, 98-92, 96-94

Monte Barrett vs. Cliff Clouser - Cliff dropped Monte right before the end of the 1st round with a hard straight right hand and then in the 2nd round another straight right hand put Monte on the canvas again. Two-time world title challenger Monte 'Two-Gunz' Barrett got caught two times by righthands from journeyman Cliff Couser. Barrett crashed to the canvas from a right to the chin as the first round ended and barely beat the count and made his way to the corner. The rest did him little good as Couser once again landed big with a right to the chin sending Barett down to the canvas for a second time. The bout was quickly afterwards at :42 seconds of the second round moving Couser to 26-12-2 (14 KO) and drops Barett to 31-6 (17KO).

Andy Lee vs. Thomas Hensterberger - Middleweight prospect Andy Lee (10-0) knocked out Thomas Hengstberger at 1:22 of the second round.

Johnathon Banks vs. Gustavo Enruiquez - Unbeaten cruiserweight Johnathon Banks (17-0) scored a TKO at 1:02 of the fourth round against tough Gustavo Enriquez (15-.

Barrett got KTFO by Cliff Couser. Wow, not that I think highly of Barrett but Cliff Couser. I'll never forget how he freaked out in the Malcolm Tann fight, funny stuff.

Seems like Mares being moved along kind of slow. Never seem to see him on tv.

Mares has fought several times on Solo Boxeo in the last month.
Haven't had a chance to record any of his fights.

You really can't tell cause I mean he somehow stuggles with opposition you think/he should blast out meaning the weaker opposition and then the tougher opposition he blasts them out...
The kid looks decent but honestly still has a lot of road to cover IMO, hes got really good hand speed and decent power but he needs to train and hard.

I can tell you this though..Ive seen several interviews from prospects all saying they get great sparring with that group of golden boy prospects..Mares,escobedo, Kid stark have all used eachother as sparring partners for a few fights.. Which is great stuff when prospects are training together as they grow imo

There were some big upsets this last weekend

    Barrett got KTFO
Simms giving away 7 rounds on route to losing a UD
Darchinyan getting caught with that great left

I think it's good to have weekends like this.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.
