I have not seen the fight yet but it looks like another close decision loss for Wright. Seems like his career is scatered with these.
What are your thoughts on the question above?

I think Hopkins defintly won the fight last night, his other losses are debatable. i had it 8-4 Hopkins. Wright looked a bit sluggish and not the usual snap in his punches i think thats the result of fighting at a higher weight.Originally Posted by The Rookie Fan
No because Hopkins beat him IMO and I don't think his popularity if it was bigger would have gained him that decision. I also think Vasquez deserved the decision when he and 'Winky' thought.
See thats the thing. DLHlookedreally slugish and not himself when he fought Sturm and still got the decision. Again I didn't see the fight last night I guess I would have to wait till next week to see if it was really clear.
But Sturm isn't as high profile as Hopkins or Vargas.
Lol..Yes but the three knockdowns might have helpedOriginally Posted by Sugar_Shaw

He definitely lost the Vazquez fight. Wasn't it five knockdowns, not three, and Winky was definitely hurt on a couple of them.
The Simon fight was very close.
I thought he beat Vargas and Taylor.
It may have been five then Mate..Originally Posted by OumaFan

But i never though he was really that hurt as far as i remember..
Like i said..I'll check it out :P

this thread is misleading, delahoya himself has had his share of getting robbed by judges with trinidad & second fight with mosley
"Very few people really understand what it means to be a fighter. I hate it when I hear someone say, 'That fighter doesn't have guts. I hate that, I don't care if you're a world champion six times over or a four-round fighter, to step inside that ring, you have to have guts" Oscar De La Hoya
The only one I remember being outraged at was the Vargas fight...I thought it was total robbery...So for that fight if he'd had a higher profile then he definately would have won

Very true, De La Hoya has been on both sides of the coin.Originally Posted by chamiley

I think Oscar was shafted in the second Mosley fight(although he was given the benefit of the doubt in the Quartey,Pernell,Sturm fights).
Anyway,no I don't think it would have made a difference. None of WInky's losses were robberies, they were all close.
The Simon fight was close. He was beaten from pillar to post by Vazquez, dropped 5 times, the Vargas fight could have gone either way and the Taylor fight,I had WInky by 1 and the scond time,I had JT by one.
I don't see how anybody could think the second ODLH-Mosley fight was a "robbery."
Maybe a slightly bad decision (although not IMO I thought Mosley won it close) but no way was it a "robbery." Mosley landed the far more effective punches, ODLH got WAY too much credit for punches that didn't even land, Lampley would just talk about that great ODLH "flurry", except that most of the punches didn't even land.
I know compubox doesn't mean everything, but if I recall right there was a big disparity in favor of OscarOriginally Posted by OumaFan
