Just one more reason why people should participate in real sports. Don't get me wrong that stuff takes courage and skill but sometimes you just have to wonder. Thats more of a hobby than a sport and i really don't see the point in glorifying it as if its a new sports genre.

Being hurt in something doesn't legitimize or delegitimize a sport. You can get hurt doing anything but honestly is it or is it not better described as a hobby than a sport?. You can skateboard around town and pretty much anywhere. You can't just ski anywhere. You have to organize sports. If you can just go out and do something, than it's a hobby but if you have to travel to some specified area or call up some friends and then go to a specified area to play its a sport.

Yes but the pros don't do that. Any skateboarding around town and grinding things is the exact same thing the pros do in skate boarding competitions.

It's physically demanding but much like Rock climbing and anything involving a halfpipe it's just a hobby
