At the press conference he said as for his future, "I thought about another fight in Tijuana, but tonight I felt the punches more than I normally do so this is my last fight." He didn't make excuses that he lost and he didn't protest the decision, he simply gave Diaz his props and said he didn't want to take anything away from his win. I never used to be a Morales fan but after his fights with Barrera I noticed that he seemed to grow as a fighter and person. I never liked his attitude toward Barrera but he since matured into a guy I admire and respect. I hope he has a great life after boxing cause he worked his @ss off for it. One of Mexico's greatest, good luck to him.

He's perhaps my favorite fighter of all time. I agree he retired with a lot of class, didn't question the decision, even though he could of. Just have to say thanks to El Terrible for a great career. Never a boring fight with him and he was always crowd pleasing.

Yes, Erik went out the way he has boxed throughout his entire career. Of course, In his prime he would have beaten Diaz handily but even here you could make a case that Morales won and he showed much more than just flashes of his old self. He was fighting a bigger fighter used to fighting at the weight and he handled himself well. For the first 6 rounds Morales was boxing admirably and it was only as he began to slow that Diaz was able to bull in more and more. But even then Morales hit Diaz with some stunning punches.

Many of us were saying that Morales was shot after the 3rd Pac fan fight. Me included. Though clearly past his best he did put up a wonderful final hurrah here. And I am so pleased that he did. Yes, he lost but as with a lot of decisions...you dont need the judges scorecards to be your final reflection on a fight. They aint always the truth.

I actually thought it was a close fight and Morales made an argument of it.I had him winning but he didn't complain about the scores so no point in me making a big deal out of it. However,I think it is time for him to 100% retire. A guy like Diaz would not have lasted and would have been thoroughly outboxed by a prime Morales,it's a testament to Morales skills and heart that even at this stage in his career,it was a close fight. Thanks for all the great fights El Terrible,you are a legend and your accomplishments,your resume, makes you the best Mexican fighter of this generation.

Morales in his prime was mexican Joe Frazier who just kept coming forward. with his concrete chin, warrior attitude & tremendous boxing skills he refused to submit to anyone's will. In his prime Morales had the ability to beat any fighter from 118 to 130.
