Default All the attributes to make a chmpion...except for chin.

Saturday 25th August, we saw Bernard Dunne, a highly accomplished amateur and hot commodity in the pro ranks at 24-0 before the fight, being felled by spanish slugger Kiko Martinez. Although nobody can question the exceptional power utilised by Martinez, the result (a TKO in the first,) has almost cemented the hypothesis that Dunne has a glass jaw.

This got me to thinking, what other Classy or Talented contenders had their potential negated by a limited tolerance for punishment and give me the fights where they were exposed along with ur brief analysis.

Put a granit chin on Hearns and he would've been unbeatable.

He still made it big though.

You know...I was kinda hyped on Dunne. Everyone has a bad night though...doubtful that he'll recover from that hyding though.

Sturm did...come to think of it many others did also...Wlad Klitschko...but you know that it's always in the back o' their noggins.

I don't think it was a bad night i think he was shocked by how quickly martinez opened. Martinez was extremely quick, not only with his hands but also with his feet, thats why he pinned bernard so easily.

For dunne id say he not onl;y has to rethink his approach to boxing, but also his entire boxing regimen. He looked far too small and slim for martinez.

Actually he didn't he just didn't know what to do when he was hurt he took monster shots off Lewis and still stayed on his feet.

I'd tend to disagree there. Every boxer is told at one stage or another what to do when they are hurt whether it be run, grab and hold or even take a knee. It is my opinion that fighters that get tagged often become two disorientated to apply these techniques and attempt to fight back (as dunne did,) however with franks power this made him quite dangerous and he had power enough to KO the opponent or buy himself time. Thats my analysis anyway.

Yes every boxer is told but its an instinct like for survival and Frank never did quite know what to do but he didn't have bad chin more like bad survival skills.

Roger Mayweather would have been one hell of a tough guy to beat if he had a chin..
Herbie Hide, Earnie Shavers, Ken Norton maybe, though it's harder to call out HW's for having poor chins when you consider how hard they are often being hit.. Perhaps it had just as much to do with their defensive styles/instincts.. Wlad Klitschko I think it's safe to say definetly does have a poor chin though.
Hearns is pretty much the obvious pick.. but of course he is an ATG champion anyways.
