Exciting stuff Will be thinking of ya trying to send good bashing vibes across the ocean Lubaczewski! All the best and have fun! People always tell me to have fun before I fight - I find that comforting somehow even if it's an odd thing to say!

An odd thing to say to be sure Sharla, but actually kind of a nice thing to say.
Since we've gotten in to the pro game,we never think about having "fun"
Might be about time we did

Don't say that! Mickey says it in Rocky 3 'yeah! have some fun!'

and then Mr T pushes him into a wall and he dies!

Damn - well if I see Mr T I'll run - thanks for the heads up Adam

Maybe I'll change my wording to something like enjoy feeling all your hard work pay off when you're in there - doesn't roll of the tounge quite so easily!

I freaking hate this part, shes on her way,and theres nothing more I can do.
We dont want our son seeing her fight,or me for that matter if I ever freaking heal,I cant work her corner because Im completely wrong for it,so all I can do is sit at home with my thumb up my butt waiting for the results

You can look her up on You Tube
Her two usual cornermen are indisposed,Steve had a fight on Friday, and Billy's dad has cancer, the guy we had lined up tanked as well so Ive no idea who's working her corner now.
Its those sudden suprises that make boxing so much fun
Look up Leslie Lubaczewski on you tube, she's the big one who wins

Nah. 'Fraid I got my ass handed to me. I got TKO'd again (this is really getting to be a bad trend). I've got a real problem with getting too tense before I fight and then since I'm so darn tense, I can't slip, roll or just plain move as well as I should. She caught me between jabs by coming in when my jab arm was getting tired and slowing down and stunning me with an upper cut. Then she immediately went to work bombing the crap out of me. I tried to get my hands up better to block her off enough to try to get out of this mess, but my arms just weren't listening to me. I also didn't think to clinch her to try to buy some recovery time. My being too tense allowed too many of her blows to land flush and my brain just told me to sit my ass down. I was up by the count of 8 but even though my lights were on, I just wasn't fully home and the ref saw that and waved me out. No grudges against the ref on this one at all.
The ring staff were none too happy with me after that. They wanted me to sit down but I shrugged them off and told them I wanted to go congratulate Cheryl on her win and did just that.
As I left the ring, I ran into the ring doctor who took a brief look at me and asked me if I was alright and if I could tell him what happened. I told him I was ok and that I had just got my ass whipped in that ring right there. He smiled and chuckled and let me head back to my dressing room.
The weekend was just a wee bit of a circus. First, I had to wait around the airport for over 2 hours before the event coordinator came to pick me and another boxer (Boyd Davis) who had been there for over 3 hours after arriving. We drove 2 hours to the casino and arrived well after weigh in time. This was not an issue since there was still one more boxer who didn't arrive at the airport yet due to all kinds of flight delays due to severe weather on and around the Great Plains. Boyd and I filled out our paperwork and got weighed in. When the commission officials asked me who would be working my corner, I told them that the match maker, Jerry was supposed to put a corner together for me. The official turns to Jerry and asks him who will be working my corner. He looks at me and says, "Oh, I still have to put a corner together for you." The official turn back to me and rolls his eyes. "We'll just leave that blank for now."
The day of the fight, I still have no idea who will be working my corner and I can't locate the event coordinator to find out who I am supposed to give my intro music to. Report time rolls around and I lamely team up with one of the other fighters and his people so I don't look too obviously alone heading from our hotel across to the casino. When I get there, I am asked again who will be working my corner. I look pointedly at Jerry who again tells me he has to put something together for me. I hand my intro music to the even coordinator and go sit on a nearby couch. Shortly after, one of the fighters' dad sits next to me and starts telling me to relax 'cause I look too tense. He looks at me then looks around the immediate area and asks me where my trainer is. I explain my situation to him that my Trainer had to watch our son and my cornermen fell through but Jerry is supposed to put something together for me. When we report back to the dressing area, I still have no news. I promptly get adopted by the dad who obviously feels bad for me and he actually was the one who went and put a corner together for me (I will love that man to the end of my days).
I go to my actual dressing room and start to get ready. The even coordinator comes in and hands me back my intro music saying that the sound people won't use it because they had to approve all intro music on the night of the weigh in (now they tell me). I continue to get ready and then the even coordinator comes back in to get my intro music saying that now the sound people are accepting intro music. I finish getting dressed and one of the gentlemen picked out by my temporary boxing dad comes in and starts to wrap my hands. Just as he is finishing up one hand, another commission member comes in and plunks a pregnancy test on the counter next to me. "You know what that is?" he asks. "Yeah, I need to pee on that," I replied. I don't suppose you could've had me pee on that before I started getting wrapped?" He laughs and tells me he's really sorry, but they need the tests done (the Illinois Boxing Commission guys are actually a bunch of genuinely likable, funny guys so it's real hard to get mad at them about much of anything). So they leave me alone for a bit. I pee on the wand using only my unwrapped hand, clean my hand off and then get it wrapped up for the fight. I got warmed up and lead out to the ring where another fellow who worked a corner for the first fight takes over. He asks me if I have a game plan. By this time, I really did not feel like much of a conversationalist so I just told him, "Hit her....lots." I knew my game plan. Trainer Monkey and I had gone over it a couple dozen times. Climbing up the steps to the ring is just not my idea of a great time to be discussing my game plan with the dude who is going to work my corner. Mind you he was a great guy and did his absolute best for me given the situation so please don't think I'm dissing him at all. The guy who took care of my hands and warmed me up was great too. I'm totally grateful to them for being so cool and taking me on at the last minute like that.

Congratulations anyway. You had a so much working against you its no wonder you felt tense when you fought. It sounds like you're keeping a good attitude and I'm sure thats good experience to have under your belt. Good luck on the next one.

Thank you, Gutbuster. It was a bit crazy at times. I certainly don't want to create an impression that the promoter runs disorganized shows. Patrick generally runs his events like clockwork. Unfortunately this time, he was handed a little more than he normally takes at one time. He had an event in Sacramento on Friday night and had to fly out the morning of the fight and also do the ring announcing for this one as well as run the event. Not to mention he's got another event next weekend too. So the fact that there were some hiccups for this fight are not his fault by any means. I think he still put together a great event. I'm going to be working on trying to see if I can get some people who I can take out to the fight with me. I'm positive that will help out.
