Ali was hated for what he stood for outside the ring. He was also charasmatic, cocky and flamboyant. It is only after we (so-called boxing fans) see him in this sorrowful and humbled state that we come to adore and somewhat respect his accomplishments. Many promoters, boxing venues and handlers alike were fed off of Ali's Talent, as they are with Mayweather.

Mayweather is an awesome fighter he's just reached the point where people just want to see him lose. Like Mike Tyson. You can't be a true winner until you've lost.

Mayweather is the best boxer out there right now...i actually find very few people here anyhow that will dispute that....pbf is disliked cause he portays himself as a dick most of the time. The only people you will find grasping at straws to bash him inside the ring usually just have a favorite boxer that is his current opponet or has a good chance to be in the near future. I have a relative down in vegas that see's him every blue moon at the 24 hour fitness down there and says he is the nicest guy so who knows....

I agree...but he does let his fists do the talking and thats another big reason people hate him...he talks and talks but he also wins and wins.

I can`t think of five reasons but he talks a lot of shit, but he isnt interesting or funny with it.

Fighters who talk shite should have some personality, ie James Toney, Ali, etc but Mayweather has none and I cant recall him coming out with a single piece of wit or a funny one liner in any interview that I have seen or heard.

I hate Floyd's arrogance and holier than thou attitude, but I don't watch boxing for personalities and I'm sure Floyd could care less what I thought of his personality. I love Kelly Pavlik as he is humble, grounded and seems genuinely a man on a mission; but again I don't watch his fights for his down to earth personality. Floyd is so skilled and an expert at his craft that I couldn't find fault if I wanted to, though he should stop telling people he'll knock out every opponent he faces. But in the end, a W is a W and I don't see anyone stopping that guy in his career. Floyd is an ACE, so hating him won't change anything anyways, probably just makes Floyd more focused so people can't get a chance to hate on him for losing. I'd still like to see Floyd lose, only if to see how he'd come back after a defeat.

Even though he has his critics,doesn't every fighter? Does that mean we are all "haters" in one sense or another as we all dislike some fighter out there. We are merely human,we possess emotions. If we were all to portray them like this,we'd have thread after thread after thread about "Hatton haters,Cotto haters etc etc"

I think we all dislike some aspect of Mayweather(H'es not funny bit tried to be,he's annoying and immaure,makes alot of unintelligent statements) but are all agreed that he is a superb fighter,with an amazing defence.
