Default Edison Miranda wins by k.o. in 5th round

Edison knocked out Henry Porras in 5 rounds last night, so I guess he's back on track. I sure hope they can line up a fight with Librado Andrade soon; what a war that would be.

He definately needs a fighting going backwards mode at least, a little lateral movement would go a long way with him.

It is funny, recently I saw one of his early fights (can't remember against whome) and he was boxing pretty good. He was actually out boxing the other guy and not trying to kill him. I guess that's the problem with these power punchers, they fall in love with their power and forget the basics. I'm looking forward to see how he does against the top tier again.

I'm a big Miranda fan and I'm glad to hear he won, but I don't think he stands too much of a chance against the currert belt-holders at 168. I wouldn't mind seeing him matched up against Bute though.

He has the perfect style for Bute to beat. Bute would beat him worse than Pavlik imo.

Wasn't Miranda actually fighting over the SMW limit in this fight? And I believe that he also mentioned somewhere that he was going to be fighting in future at light-heavyweight.

I mean seriously, jumping two weights when you started at 112 isn't too bad, but from 160 it's a whole different ball game to do it to 175 in two fights.

Here's the link to the fightnews story its from. I don't think he'd be too good in the light-heavies to be honest.

I think he is too slow to be a boxer.

I don't think anyone's suggesting he become a boxer, just that he could help himself if he improved his boxing skills.

Amen (cc), I have thought this many times, and it usually suddenly bites them in the a** when they get to the elite level. I also think this happens to strong guys too, like Lacy. I could see Berto falling into that trap if he's not conscientious about it.

Ironically it seems that the knockouts happen easier against elite fighters, for the fighters that patiently set things with some good boxing.

Bute would not be able to back him up. I think he would expose Bute. I just do not see anything special in Bute at all at this point. He no longer punches in bunches and his once talked about power is not evident at championship level.

Well done for Edison, hes fighter and comes in to fight he gives it his all.

I still see him as a big threat to anyone he faces. Something tells me his boxing skills will improve and we might see Pavlik vs. Miranda II maybe late 2008.

I see Gamboa had another good win on the undercard. Cant wait to see him fighting the top guys, and by how fast he is progressing i might not have to last long!
