I think this would be a super clash of styles. Big,tall strong, rangy fighters, superb jabs and right hands, power, accuracy. Who wins this fight?

Time will tell. We have never seen Pavlik at 168 but if he packs that wallop with him while moving up, he will have a punchers chance. Kelly is faster and stronger than I imagined. The only thing this kid has going against him is that questionable chin. I still give Pavlik a punchers chance because that is what he has, one hell of a punch. I am sure Pavlik hits harder than Kessler. You think? I think Pavlik would knock Kessler out. IMO
True true,we have yet to see Kelly at 168. I just imagine him not having to struggle to make weight so much and so maybe being slightly better?? Who knows. I think his chin is good to be honest, although I like Kessler's counter punching skills and Kessler does pretty darn well against orthodox fighters coming straight forward. Kelly would hit harder but Kess is soooo accurate! I really am not sure,it's difficult to make a guess at this point but I'd go with hmmm....I really don't know!Originally Posted by Danny_G
BTW,I have to give both fans of these fighters huge props. Kelly I never really watched but now I have about 15 of his fights and Kessler, well I used to think he was good but too basic, man I was wrong. I was also put off by some of Kessler's diehard fans, who were a bit too hardcore for me(only Manny fans are worse!) but since they've died out abitBoth are superb fighters with great futures and I'll certainly be watching them, win lose or draw!
this would be a good fight and who would win is hard to choose..
i think kessler would take it by decision. pavlik doesn't fight at 168 and we have no idea what his power is like there etc.
if pavlik still has the power at 168 he wins
I think Pav could win just because he throws so many punches and they seem to eventually catch up witht heir opponent. That said, Pavlik is obviously not as crafty as Calzaghe nor a southpaw, which adds insult to injury so to speak. Kessler seemed to be befuddled through those later rounds and was the 1st I've seen him stop with his gameplan, and basically abandon his jab. Don't know if Kelly could put him off his game by volume alone, unless he lands some of those rights. A little early for me to make a prediction, until we see if Pavlik goes to 168. He needs to touch gloves with Miranda again, this time at 168, and also a must fight for Pavlik is Andrade. After those it would be a bit easier to gauge his chances with Kess. Right now I'd have to go with Kess, but it can't be a foregone conclusion. Bad move to just jump in with Kess before testing the 168 waters though IMO. Damn next year is going to be busy for Kess and Pav. I think Taylor/Kessler would be very intriguing also.Originally Posted by Danny_G
