Default Malignaggi disrespectful Comments & Hatton's next Opponenet.

    http://www.skysports.com/story/0,195...963850,00.html

I realise that there is a thread dealing withnthis subject already, however, I felt the need to open this thread to say that I feel Malignaggi is talking himself up and in the process being disrespectful to Ricky.

In the article Malignaggi says the Ricky is Afraid of being hit, and as a resultant fights in the mauling style he does. I felt this was a reasonable opinion and I took it Ok, but then Paulie went on to say "whenever he's ready to step up to the plate..."

Is Hatton not the No.1 at LWW?, was Hatton's last opponent not 100 times better a fighter than Paulie will ever be?, Is Malignaggi in someway disillusioned into thinking Ricky is intimidated by his (non-existant) punching power?

I do like Paulie, however this interview in my opinion was rediculous and was just a demonstration of Paulie attempting to drum up publicity and make himself some money.

    Also....

Not surprisingly Rees has been cleared of the unenviable task of being Hatton's next opponent. I felt he would have been undersized and underskilled to have made a good showing against Ricky.

Witter has also stepped up his search for a Hatton Clash, again claiming he's being avoided...http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/boxing/7137592.stm

On the De la Hoya front the Guardian also ran an article chronicling the return of Hatton and his fans and mentioned that De la Hoya wont wait around forever...

In Rickys mind, I don't think he's even considering Witter.

He'll either take the payday and go for DLH, which is a big risk...

or he'll shut Malignaggi up. I liked Paulie until I heard him speak. I find it funny that he has nothing but praise for Witter but slags Hatton. I want Hatton to shut Paulie up, then sort Witter out.

I no I sound demanding but I want to see Ricky fight everyone now...
I want him to burst with activity and fight regularly to reclaim his aura.

I want him to fight Paulie, Witeter, Torres, Hopkins, Peterson if he's ready, Diaz if he steps up and any other challenger at 140... I WANT HIM TO LITERALLY CLEAR THE DIVISION AND BE uNDISPUTED.

Malignaggi's comments sounded reasonable to me. In Paulie's mind they have both faced the best competition out there in Mayweather and Cotto but wheras Hatton got his a** handed to him in an embarrassingly one sided fight Malignaggi hung in there with Cotto, a much bigger puncher than Floyd and gave an excellent account of himself.

Bilbo you know better than to compare Cotto at 140 to Floyd at 147.

The only thing embarrssing was the KO. Hatton wobbled Floyd in round 1, most said in won round 2 and some think he took round 3. The first 6 rounds made it a close fight, after then Floyd came into his own. Paulie took a one sided beating from Cotto.

The beating Pauli took from Cotto was anything but onesided. He got busted up early and broke his jaw but fought on and was winning most of the later rounds.

Considering Malignaggi went down in the second official scores of 115-112 116-111 116-111 show anything but a onesided beating. It actually means on one card Paulie tied Cotto dead level over the other 11 rounds and only lost 6-5 on the other two cards.

Mayweather beat Hatton by scores of 88-82 89-81 89-81 meaing Hatton won 1 round on two cards and two on another.

Now tell me who again who did better

He broke his zygomatic arch (the cheek bone) a painful but minor injury.
He's a boxer not a fighter so considering he spent the entirety of the fight on the back foot or holding Cotto in close, I'm not exactly impressed! Sure he made the most of what he has and tried his heart out, but there was never any question of Paulie Winning.

He was deducted a point too remember

It wouldn't be an easy fight. I'm exaggerating when I say he'll kill him. I think Hatton would win though. I don't have much doubt about that.

I think Ricky should and will fight Paulie. Paulie can hang in with Hatton and take himself another gutsy asskicking, just like he got against Cotto.
