Default How Much Boxing Do You Actually Watch?

I was just curious on how much boxing everyone wqatches here....Obviously 99.9% of everyone here knows their stuff and follows the sport but I am talking in a week....

I personally watch boxing on ESPN, ESPN Classic, FSN, Versus, and SNY plus any HBO or Showtime bouts that may be on.....I don't care if the fights are old or between two nobodies if they box I watch it.....I have to say I watch a good 10hrs a week....

    Anyone else?

I watch as much as i can, altho its not easy in Australia because boxing gets such little exposure here, and many of the big overseas fights dont even get shown. I like watching old fights i've collected, and seein how prospects are doing when i can.

I wonder why?.....Is the sport of boxing just not popular there or is it that maybe there are not an over abundance of Austrailian fighters?

Not to sound stupid but what is the biggest sport there? Rugby?

Australian Rules Football is the biggest sport, and even tho i like and have played the game a lot it takes too much focus off other sports. The back ten pages of some papers are always taken up by footy. Rugby League probably second.
I think we have some good fighters from or based in oz, Green Mundine Katsidis Darchinyan Soliman Briggs, to name a few but no real standout stars. Kostya was the last real big name champ. Maybe we need a really big name to put the sport back on the map. If KAtsidis could win as a massive underdog against Diaz, or say a Billy Dib could come good it might help.

    Any that I can, at any time on t.v. It's only been the last 3 years I have really gotten back into it, as from about 98-2005 I didn't watch ANY t.v., except the occasional fight at a friends house. I had a t.v., but didn't have cable or even the regular staions working on it, and only played video games on it Then when my girlfriend and I got a house together, she had to have cable and t.v and I just literally dove right back into boxing. I had forgot over the years how much I loved this sport. Kind of weird I know With all the interests I had and work, I just kind of forgot about it. Now it's about the only thing I look forward to{except for my snakes and dogs }

Man,well this will reveal the lack of social life but Im a boxing hooo..ahem...rather "groupie" haa.Since 1990 I watch and record every card I can find,Buy,trade or somehow come across. If its boxing,I dont care if it's 4 rounder walk out or the most over hyped fight around,I watch.
Tapes are a HUGE pain in the ass to lug around and Ive just started transfering everything onto DVD..(Im about 10 years behind lol).I'll grab a random tape or dvd & just put it on as background.Ive done some crazy s!!! to catch boxing. Live it,Love it,Breath it,I love this great sport!!

I watch a lot of boxing.... ESPN, HBO, SHOW, ESPNC, VS, TELEFUTURA, TELEMUNDO, GALAVISION.

During the week when we have Wednesday Night Fights on FSN, then Friday Night Fights on ESPN @ 5:30, then later @ 8:00 Solo Boxeo on Telefutura, then later on it's Showbox:Next Generation on Showtime, before I go to sleep I'll pull out a fight from my external hard drive and watch it. During the week at work for my 1 hr. lunch break I watch fights that I've burned on DVD, I have a portable DVD player. The DVD player kicks ass man, it plays any file type so as long it's on DVD disk. My girl bought it for me last year the bottom part are attachable speakers I just mount it on there hit play and start eating while I watch my boxing.

(By far one of the best gifts I've ever gotten)

I watch as much as I possibly can. Less its total garbage..even then I'll probably watch it till the end. But if its a really old black and white fight, then NO. I will not watch those for the most part.

I havn't sat down and watched any old fights for a year or so but I keep up to date with virtually everything that happens week to week.

    I guess I watch between 10 and 20 fights a week.

I'll watch anything and everything that is free and 90% of the PPV's offered to us. On rare occasions lack of sleep will cause me to conk out during a lesser program. I missed the greater part of last Versus card for this reason. I saw the opening bout but missed the Monte Barrett KO and the main event Yuri Foreman fight cause I fell asleep.

I find it very difficult to watch ESPN Classic unless it's from the black & white era and I want to gain perspective on an old timer. If I know the winner and it isn't 50 years old I get bored....

I've always wanted to check out the fights on these channels but they are not a part of my Directv package. I would have to upgrade to the $99.99 a month and I can no afford.

I just kissed off MSG because they haven't shown anything decent since the Chagaev Valuev fight.

The Fox cable network have some live Friday night Boxing promotions 'Fenech fight night'' usually with guys whose record will read 8-20-2 or something like that. Last week a guy was in his 7th pro fight without a win and you guessed it... lost again!
There are less than 200 registered boxers in Australia so it's very difficult for promoters to put on consistently good promotions. The sports channels are dominated by Australian Rules Football, Cricket, Rugby and Soccer is growing in popularity here.
I buy most of the pay for views from the states and some channels show old fights, watched Camacho v Haugen the other night!
