I actually think it will be quite similar to Sellers vs Thompson, i can't see the fight going past 5 rounds. And i expect at least 3 knockdowns, anyone else agree ??

I think Haye should win but because he will be weakened to make the weight he may have to get up of the floor to do it. Haye should go to heavyweight as losing or looking bad against maccaroni will ruin his credibility and appeal when he moves up. He should have made the fight at 210lbs then he would be guaranteed to ko maccaroni. at 200lbs its anyones fight.Originally Posted by Ice Cold Boxing
Personally i think the first fighter to be dropped in this loses the fight cause both fighters are great finishers.
I just hope its Haye who wins.
I know most people will be expecting a bomb-fest of big hits and knockdowns and everything else, but I truly believe that it could go to points, and not be an amazing fight to watch. Here's why I think that it might not live up to all the hype, and the big talk coming from both camps so far.
1) Both David Haye and Enzo Maccarinelli know that their opponent is a big puncher, bigger than anyone they will have respectively faced before. This could make both fighters go into the bout more carefully than they will have before.
2) This will be the most anticipated fight for both sets of fans in the careers of both fighters. This one has been on the cards for years, and neither man will want to lose this one, and could make them more defensive.
3) They both know they have suspect chins, and will look to defend them, rather than go all out for the first big punch as they say they will.
4) There's three months of hype to go yet....the trash talk has started already, and by March neither man will like each other and will feel even more pressure to win.
So, in essence, I reckon this one will go down the stretch, with Maccarinelli having slightly more experience over 12 rounds and will push himself to claim a narrow win, by a round or two.
I see your point sometimes when big punchers fight each other they fight cautiously and don't want to risk having a toe to toe war. But i think Enzo, Haye, are such exciting fighters and they both hit so damn hard i can't see this one ever going the distanceOriginally Posted by superheavyrhun
I hope that's the case, because especially with Haye moving up to the heavies, this will be one of the highest profile fights for Britain this year, and deserves plenty of positive attention and a cracking toe-to-toe war will no doubt further boost boxing in Britain.Originally Posted by Ice Cold Boxing
However, as for Enzo Maccarinelli, I think he's got a bit of form in going more defensive against harder punchers, see what happened when he fought Wayne Braithewaite. He looked to box rather than blast Braithewaite out of there, and went the full 12.
I have seen David Haye get floored twice and they have both been off shots to the Temple. I can not remember if he got floored against Thompson or just stopped.
His chin might not be that bad although he is compromised by the weight.
Tip of the month: Protect yourselves at all times. You never know when the scheming bitch will come back for more.
