Default Anybody see Steven King's "MISERY"?

Not too long ago I saw "Misery", by Steven King. I heard that he came up with the book because he actually had a crazed fan like that in real life. Does anyone know anything else about it? Thanks.

I know it happened in the movie, but did that happen to King in real life?

I've seen it many times, great movie. The 1st time I saw it I jumped up off the floor when she slammed him in the ankles with the sledgehammer. That was tough to watch Needful Things is a great book also by King, and the movie was good too, as was Thinner.
