There is proof that is a fight the the fans are demanding, and Mayweather is taking lesser fights... I agree the boxing is not ONLY for fight fans, and there will always be dissapointments for us, but Mayweather isn't going to be fighting forever, he's not lost a fight and not looked like losing any, so I really think he should take the fights that the fans want and will give him the max credit as he moves on in his years...


P.S.... I actually made this post originally 4 weeks ago, when the first 2 pages of Boxing talk had at least 10 open threads saying that Mayweather was definately ducking Cotto,,, and everyone was getting a little to serious about it and going a bit overboard having like 7 exact same arguements going in 7 different threads.. so I decided the issue needed a little lightening up and some balance... The fact no one appreciated the joke is evidence in itself that the whole Mayweather/Cotto subject is causing tension amongst fight fans and this fight needs to happen!!

I think Mayweather said it best when he said that he is the top of the mountain and they should be working their way up to fight him, not the other way around.

After this weekends fights and when Cotto fights and beats the winner of Cintron Margarito then let him have a go at Mayweather, Mayweather has earned his position and its about time boxers earned their way up to him if you catch my drift.


But like i said this all goes the crapper if Gomez somehow beats Cotto. Which I don't see happening, but i'd gladly eat my words just to see what Danny_G has to say
