Default WBC calls Soto/Lorenzo a draw and demand an immediate rematch.

The WBC will view the final result as a draw and have ordered an immediate rematch.

I guess it is the next best thing, I don't think Lorenzo will recover any time soon The rematch would probably be in like a year

I can't get over how emmotional E Stewy got at the end of the broadcast. I thought he was about to cry. This really got him upset. He was really holding back, he said he wanted to cuss but that he promised his kids that he would not use any swear words and that he was keeping his promise. Unbeliavble was that HBO themselves could not get an interview with Joe Cortez after the fight but Sentanta could? WTF!?

It'll be interesting to see how long it takes before a rematch. Lorenzo must be anemic after all that blood loss; not to mention he'll be needing a team of engineers to rebuild his mess of a nose.

I look forward to the rematch just out of sheer barbaric reasons; to see a beating barely short of criminal. What are the odds Cortez will be the ref for the rematch Maybe Soto can clip Joe on accident and knock him on his incompetent a##.

I almost feel sorry for Lorenzo in a rematch.

A draw is a better result than that DQ loss - No way Soto deserved a loss from what happened in that fight.

I still don't get a draw? Is it a technical draw? Makes almost as little sense as the original ruling did. And this is the WBC, how did the NSAC ultimately rule it?

There definitely needs to be a rematch. I feel bad for both guys, Lorenzo sounds like a guy who's really struggling to make all he can for his kids, can't really blame him for not getting up and trying to wrestle away a win.

Also feel bad for Soto as he really should be moving on to a lot bigger fish then Lorenzo but now he has to put his career on pause. I would bet that the next fight ends in the first round.

It is a better result but can a sanctioning body over rule a refs decision ( as stupd as it was )

Cortez got it wrong but that isnt Lorenzos fault. I dont think WBC should have the authority to be able to over turn decisions based on their own judgement cuz if they start doing it then everyone will and we shall have total chaos and anarchy which will further damage the sport .

For the record I personally think it should be a Soto K.o win cuz Cortez stepped in but then chaged his mind however the governing body cant just make up the rules as they go or whats the point in having a ref ?

Referees decision is final? not a chance in this game

Remember when The WBO gave Barrera his belt back after the 1st Morales fight cuz they felt he didnt lose. I agree Barrera didnt lose but to do that is ridiculous . Summat needs to be done.

The problem was Cortez, he jumps in to seperate them then steps back and lets them go. Then he jumps in as Soto is already in "forward progress" (if I may use that term) throwing punches.

I thikn the call was correct according to the rules BUT the ref. was at fault here so theres a shady gray area there for me.

If it is a draw, then the champ keeps the belt. Why have a rematch?

The match was for the vacant title so I'm assuming the WBC is keeping the title vacant.

What i worry about is Lorenzo, no way he is going to beat Soto in a rematch and he could get hurt badly. I hope they have a ref who will bring about a quick stoppage when things start going badly for Lorenzo, that will be about round 3 or 4!

Sorry guys I thought Soto had the belt. Still I think a rematch when one guy is outmatched is stupid anyway you go about it.

instead of a draw it should have been a no contest and there's really no need for a rematch. soto should move on to bigger things.

If a Pac fight gets offered to Soto I think he will take that instead at lightweight. Ive heard its a possibility but its high risk low reward for Pac so probably wont happen

He should be WBC champ IMO . Cortez is useless

If anything I think Soto is just the perfect opponent of Pac. Sotos got credibility and honestly he is a FAR more better fighter then Diaz.
I never gave Diaz chance in hell in that fight...

At the same time I don't see Pac moving down to SFW he knows very well that the money is at LW & LWW. Something tells me he'll take on the winner of Casa-JMM...

My mouths watering at a possible fight in Pac vs. Casa... Oh! my god!
