From the fundamental stance, slide the left foot back until the toe points toward the right heel. Move one full step to the right w/the right foot shifting the weight over a straight rght leg. The step you take with the right foot can be either directly to the side, directly back, or somewhere in between. When you begin your weight should be @ evenly distributed, now on right leg, rght ft flat, pointed to the side, left heel off the floor toe pointed same dir. as the right foot- there will be a brief instant when the left ft carries the weight; it should be quick and minimal, like stepping on a nail or something breakable. Once the wght is on the right leg, pivot on the balls of the feet to the left to return to the attack, or simply step out.
