Default What if Alfonso Gomez fought Zab Judah?

I think this fight should be made. It would be almost a 50/50 fight at this point, and I'm a big Zab Judah fan. I'd have to make it 60/40 Judah actually, but it could be a great cross roads fight.

I actually think this is a gimme for Zab. Tho Judah may not be a top flight fighter anymore, he is not far behind them. Whereas Cotto proved that Gomez is not even close to being world class. I think it oculd go the distance but zab would win 10 rounds atleast.

Judah savages him and stops him mid rounds. The only reason Gomez lasts that long is because of his chin.

    uh huh...

I think you guys are wrong in comparing their efforts against Cotto. That doesn't mean much here. They would be fighting each other, NOT Cotto again.

Gomez has a similar style to Baldomir, and pressure guys have been givin Judah real problems lately.

I think it would be a tough fight for Judah after the early rounds.

Im sick of Zabs constant title shots and his die hard core.

He has little heart and has lost every big fight.

Baldo was/is a lot stronger and more durable than Gomez

Is also far less skilled with half his speed.

Zab fights for 6rds or until he gets hit then gives up.

Exactly Carlos Baldomir took Vernon Forrest's shots at 154 which shows he has a good chin and he is very strong, where as Alfonso Gomez has struggled with the likes of Jessie Felciano, Alfonso Gomez has questionable stamina, he has a soft midsection.

And he is pretty average all round and i wouldn't say he is that good of a pressure fighter either, i think he likes to box at mid distance using his jab. Zab Judah may have a weak mentality, but i cannot see him losing to someone of Alfonso Gomez's level.

Are u honestly saying Gomez is a better and more dangerous fighter than Baldomir? Come on u have to be kidding!
Look i hate Zab as much as the next guy, but aside from Baldo he has only really lost against the absolute top of the heap.

    Near Prime Tszyu
    Mayweather
    Cotto
Spinks, which he avenged with a KO.

Gomez is nothing more than a journeyman who made a name against a washed up guy in Gatti who was shot as hell and never that good in the first place.

But Baldomir also scraped a rather dubious points win over that Perez guy who Gomez previously blew out in about 3 rounds.

Baldimor is just a fat plodder who is little more than a walking punch bag, I'd favour Gomez over Baldomir any day of the week, Gomez would completely outbox him

The Baldo that beat Judah would bulldoze Gomez.

Same here, but I always enjoy his first few rounds because he has so much talent and it's great to watch. Of course your waiting for his spirit to be broken or his concentration to go at the same time. I did have a newfound respect for him after the Cotto fight though, he fought and lost like a man for once.
