And i think he's a good fighter with good footwork, good speed, good chin, good high output.

I don't think this will be a walkover by any means, i've said from the start. Michael Jennings will make Miguel Cotto look bad in spots, with his movement but as we see against Carlos Quintana. Miguel Cotto can catch up to fighters with good movement.

I see Michael Jennings holding his own until about the 5th round, where he will start to feel the effects of Miguel Cotto's body punches. And he will move less/less around the ring, as soon as Miguel Cotto slows Michael Jenning's movement down, its curtains for Michael Jennings.

I see Michael Jennings being stopped round about the 8th/9th round. He will give a very good account of himself but he will be overmatched in the end.

I dont think he has a chance.
Cotto was beastly at Cotto vs. Margarito but Margaritos pressure overwhelmed him.

I believe for any fight you need to take it from both sides and see what possible outcomes it can produce. Im swaying towards Cotto stoppage though

Interesting points of view.I think the fight with our fighter Jennings will be really close, closer than some people give Jennings credit for.Im looking forward to this fight.Infact im going to bet on Jennings at the Bookmakers.Im sure he'll have good odds on him with him being the under dog.I like Cotto too!

Good read, but I do take exception to the remark about not Imagining Floyd Mayweather showing the heart that Cotto-margarito showed...

I think because Floyd is that damn good he hasnt had to be in a life and death struggle in the ring..

Seems like your taking an unfair dig at him

im sorry JT, I know for a fact Floyd would beat Cotto, margarito the 147 elite. It just pisses me off that he thinks he has the right to retire and think we all care about it. He needs to get his ass back and prove his the man, the potential is there why isnt he using it ? it annoys me a lot

No offense but how many fights have you seen of Michael Jennings ? because me and Tam have the added advantage of watching most of his fights on ITV. So i doubt many of you American's have seen him fight, so not many of you can make a good judgment on the fight, no offense im just being honest.

I can't take seriously the opinion of anybody who rates Carl Froch so highly

Sorry Tam, but I have to take your comments with a grain of salt when you are writing about British fighters. Your kind of like a young Steve Bunce, except you're not a complete idiot Remember when Bunce tried to tell us that Jean Pascal was tougher fight than Jermaine Taylor? Anybody who believes that, I got some oceanfront lots in Nevada I want to sell you.

But If ICB says he'll make a good fight, I believe him. I'll admit I haven't scene much of Jennings, but considering that he's never been in with a world class fighter and he's lost to a guy like Mutley, I can't help but think he's well overmatched. He might be able to survive until the late rounds, but I don't see it being close at all. Maybe he even runs all the way to a decision, but it's going to be a lopsided affair either way, I suspect.

Donny says he has a good jab and Ice says he can move, so that could keep him on his feet for a while and make it more interesting. Still, I doubt he jabs, moves, or has better skills than Quintana and we all know how that ended.

Good write up Tam,honestly at times an unknown plugger like Jennings can come in and make the most of an oppurtunity of a lifetime.I have only seen a couple of rounds on blurry U-Tube but he does look strong,a glossy record,a bit taller than Cotto. In a way,Cotto has nearly everything to loss here....if he looks really bad, goes a dull 10, & catches alot of leather...the whispers could begin,"Cotto can not recover from Tony drubbing"....hes slipped? Then again maybe a guy like Jennings can rise to the occassion? On the other hand Cotto could just walk him down, dictate terms and get a convincing bounce back victory...exactly what Jennings is being brought in for at this point. Its all mute.A huge hurdle for Cotto in just getting back on track...I think he will.

I seen 9 of his fights. Which is enough for me to say he's not going to beat Cotto. He looked like garbage in his last fight. To beat Cotto you need power. Which I don't see Jennings having. He might be able to move enough to last rounds. But eventually Cotto is going to get him.

I don't think he will beat him but i think he will do better, than some people are saying on here. I think he will make Miguel Cotto look bad in the early going, with his movement and boxing skills. Your also right Michael Jennings doesn't have power, and thats because he doesn't really ever sit down on his punches.

But he has good stamina which will serve him well, until Miguel Cotto gets the body shots working, which i think Michael Jennings will crumble too like a piece of paper. Michael Jennings ain't world class, but i think he's a good enough boxer with good enough movement, to atleast give a good account of himself, and not be totally embarrassed.

He has proven it, what more do you want from him? He has proven himself ten times over. Way more than either Margarito or Cotto have done. You want to see heart? Watch him against guys like Burton, NDou, Corley, even Zab Judah, he could have easily outboxed them, but he opted to stand there and trade. He is more of a man than people give him credit for, and he is the best fighter in the world. Margarito never deserved a fight with Mayweather until he beat Cotto.
