Question Why so much hate for Kahn (and Mundine)?

I'm confused by the hatred Kahn seems to engender. Just don't understand it. Maybe someone can help me with it.

As for Mundine, I know he is pretty mouthy and I know he said some things after 9/11, but surely there must be some other reasons for the hate he seems to stir up. What is it?

I am truly puzzled by this. I have always tried to separate a fighter's conduct outsside the ring from his conduct inside. It's not easy sometimes, but I try hard with this. I did with Prince Naseem as difficult as it was, becuase he could perform inside the ring and I did it with PBF which is also somewhat difficult.

I certainly don't hate Khan, it's just that he was in against Barrera. And I can only support one fighter there.

I don't hate Kahn at all. In fact, all the hatred for him kinda made me cheer for him.

Mundine on the other hand, is a loudmouth shit-talker who hasn't backed anything up, though I think he has the potential to be a great fighter. I've seen him claim to be the best fighter in the world etc. which, considering his level of opposition, is more than laughable.

Hate is a very strong word and i don't hate anybody, Khan needs to prove himself and while fighting Barrera is admirable let's be realistic, Barrera is 5 years past his best! I would have much more respect if Khan took on someone like Katsidis!
As for Mundine, he is his own worst enemy, he keeps on talking the talk with little or no back up, fighting guys ranked below 50 or way past their best.
He has talent but time is not on his side, he is 34 this year and unless he gets a fight with Abraham or Pavlik 2009 will be another wasted year for Mundine.

Mundine needs to go swim in the deep end of the pool and go live and fight in the states. He has great skills and proves more people wrong than he does right, but it may be too late.Eccles, Green, and soliman are all good fighters too so he cant be as bad as some make out. He was beating Oktte before that nice crack to the temple took him out too.

Khan seems like a nice enough bloke latley; has he sh!t talked allot in the past?

Maybe some dumb people get him mixed up with Nassems lot and being with Warren think its going to be a replay of that stage show.

Im sure theres alot of rasict stuff involved with Kahn.
i couldnt belive the crap against Pakistanis that was being thrown all over the place in every stream and link during the fight.

Yeah, that certainly put paid to all that 'the Khan hate isn't about race stuff'. I think that is part of the hate on Khan undeniably, & has actually made me grow to support him. I think he's a nice kid, yes his head gotta a bit big pre-Prescott, but what teenager's wouldn't. Seriously the lack of credit he's been given here is ridiculous, no one would be saying Barrera didn't win the fight if the roles were reversed.

Mundine on the other hand is a cock, and the stuff he has said, its no surprise that people dislike him. It's not even like he's Mayweather, who has one persona pre-fight & a completely different one post-fight. Mundine is just an all-round dickhead.

I've already said he boxed well for those five rounds, and that's as much credit as I will give. What more do you want me to say? Khan was good, he got the job done.

Of course, I support boxing. At the end of the day, I just want to see good fights, it doesn't really matter if I know the fighters or not. But we have certain fighters we like too. I happen to like Barrera a lot, and can't help but feel the cut ruined the fight. It tarnished the night for me, as it meant we couldn't see Khan pushed against the best of what Barrera still has. You can disagree with that, but that's my take on the fight.

I don't like Kahn because he is a cocky little prick who has done little to garner the right to be so....KO'd the first time he fought a dangerous fighter and the rest of his opp with a recognizable name have either all been coming in off a loss or on the down end of their careers...yet we are supposed to jump up and down and sing his praises...I think not..

Do something worth praising then I will give him his due....

I wiash for an Amir Kahn Vs Juan Diaz bout to be signed.....

I can almost guarentee there will be no praising Kahn after that fight

Mundine fits the same boat.....Big shit talker who has lost every time he faced a fighter worth a nickle...Wins over Soliman and Taylor do not give the right to act like and ass....

    No hate for khan

just slight resentment that he has had it all handed to him and even last night was made to look like something he clearly isnt.

Roach can turn khan into the next pacquiao but as soon as he gets hit on that chin by a world class puncher he is going down no more what!!!

Mundines just a very ordinary fighter that doesnt come out of oz because he knows he`ll get badly exposed.

Diaz is all done. Kahn would ice him. Agree, however, with many of your thoughts about Mundine.

I was at the fight last night and have to stay I was shocked at the booing of Khan and certainly where I was sat some of it was pure hatred.

I have to admit, and it's no secret that I am not a fan of Amir, that I was supporting Barrera last night but I applauded Khan into the ring and at victory - disappointed that I was.

Can't be good for the kid on home soil - and only fuels racial divisions as there will be those who believe it to be the fact that he is a muslim (again there's no denying that's probably the reson for a small minority of fans) but lets not forget how people were anti-Eubank and Audley too.

Diaz done? Why because of the loss to JMM?...Kahn is no JMM...Not Even close to being a JM.......

The Diaz that hunted Marquez down for 5+ rounds is as dangerous as they come....Kahns chin would crush up like a recyclable can lets be serious...
