Me.
That's right. Been one year today since I first joined here at Saddos.
Finding Saddos wasn't random. It was a calculated and researched decision. Basically I read all the boxing sites before deciding to call a place home and hang my hat. Some things that first interested me were my own needs, that being the training section. The guys in there have done alot of good work organizing information for any boxer, and particularly a beginner to learn from. As well, had more people who actually knew boxing training and conditioning vs. talk alots then any other forum. I found this extended to history knowledge.
I found it extended to boxing history knowledge as I began to read the boxing forum as well. There were knowledgeable posters and fewer wind up artists and pure shit talkers. And even the shit talkers I found did it from a base of knowledge that was impressive. Now bear in mind I knew little of boxing outside of a gym and my frame of reference. I didn't know who Pac was, who MAB was, who JMM was...I just knew Ali was the greatest and that was that. Like most total newbs. I still know little of its history but learn every day I read. Sometimes it is a bit overwhelming, especially with the base of info some of yas have. Almost like you are speaking a different language at times with these lists of past fighters, divisions, records etc.
So in short, thanks guys. Thanks for welcoming me to this site and helping me learn. Thanks for making this a great place to belong. All of yas, Saddo, the mods, my fellow canucks, all the regs long term and short, you guys I argue with and often don't agree with. So with this, my first anniversary date today, I just wanted to say thanks to ya all for making this the best boxing site on the web, bar none.
