Default Roach: Mayweather-Pacquiao tricky to set up

Freddie Roach has warned boxing fans that a clash between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao may not happen, even if the former beats Juan Manuel Marquez in July.
The renowned trainer believes that Mayweather, returning to the ring having retired from the sport in December of 2007, will have enough about him to beat Marquez, but is also certain that a financial agreement for any possible bout between 'Pretty Boy' Mayweather and the Pacman would be difficult to reach.
“Both fighters have egos,” Roach insisted, speaking to The Sweet Science website.
“Mayweather wants a 60-40 split. He’s not going to get that with Manny. I know for sure Manny won’t accept anything like that.”
Pacquiao's stock has grown exponentially since his technical knockout over Oscar De la Hoya late last year, a bout the Filipino followed up by flooring Ricky Hatton in the second round of their clash earlier this month.

    Possibly!
If you think about it though neither man will accept less than the lions share so we have a stalemate!

Whoever demands more then half in this fight is dumb. especially if Mayweaather really beats Marquez. It would be very bad for boxing if this fight didn't happen because of a couple pounds or if one of them demanded a bigger purse.

60 for the winner sounds great, and the loser gets 40. Hell I believe all super fights should be like that.

60/40 for the winner sounds good on paper, it will not be agreed to in principle because of egos. Mayweather has to give ground here, he was the one who went into retirement while Manny went onto more boxing glory.
They will agree on 50/50 eventually. Expect November or December and a lot of chest beating, posturing and wind coming out of everyone's ass until the deal is done.

Roach has started the excuse making for Pacquiao pretty damn early. It should be 60-40 Mayweather. A win over the current p4p number 1 Marquez mean more than Pacquiao's recent wins combined

In cases like this I think it's perfect. You want the bigger share you fukking fight for it.

A bigger purse to the winner might create problems when you are in a sport as corrupt as ours.

62% if win by KO cold...

56% if win by warm KO or TKO...

    51% if win by decision...

I expect Roach to try all tactics for this fight. It would be a shame if either side wanted the lion's share. At most, PBF should ask for is 55%. I think 50/50 is fair.

In my opinion it gives fighters even more incentive and fire to win the fight, not as if they don't already. But 50/50 of the purse and revenues is fair for both sides, I just have a bad feeling that this fight won't be made this year, and this is the fight that not only boxing fans want to see but the general public as well.
