Default Mundine only goes for safe fights: Green

In recent newspaper article Danny Green has been critical of Mundine's level of opponents.

    The irony was the line
Green said he had little time nowadays to even think about Mundine.

If that's the case why isn't he hyping up his fight with Jones, is it because he is not as popular as he thinks and knows the biggest payday for him is a return with Mundine.

I like both of these guys but Green seems the one who needs Mundine.

I dont think its the popularity of either fighter but the rivalry between the two that make for a big payday for both.

the geale mundine fight wasnt as big as the green mundine fight. yet it was for a belt.

I dont think the green RJJ fight will need a massive hype up. RJJ is world known name and people will want to see him and green go at it. So well done to green on getting the fight in Aus.

And that's the point, I reckon RJJ made this fight 'cause he reckons it's an easy one and his people will know it can sell as we don't get many fighters like him here.

Given that I reckon people are not giving Green a chance when he really does have one, I think Danny needs to forget about Mundine and remain focused, he really doesn't want to be thinking about the fight after. Too many have have taken their focus off the guy in front of them and come unstuck.

    PS Welcome aboard.

LOL You beat me to that one. Its funny how green never really complained about weight or anything until the mundine fight and then said he was weight drained. He said it wasnt an excuse and now he acts like the loss never happened because of the weight. He is living off the rivalry, i wish hed stop. Mundine is at middleweight now (i think he needs to go back up to super middle as he seems to have lost his power) and green is a cruiser...no point of a rematch, someone will whinge either way about weight if they lose.

True no point in a rematch.

Also knocking his other opponents is bazaar, Green would have given his left nut to have fought Spen Okkte, Soliman or Antwun Echols when Mundine fought them.

    Tko RJJ.

I would like to talk about Mundine's career....but what career? What does he do? He has gone backwards since the Green fight and barely got away with the decision against Geale. Why isn't he challenging Pavlik, Abraham, Sturm or Williams ? I think he is 34 years old and time is running out for Mundine, who is his next opponent? Some chump they pulled out of a cab in King's Cross?
One of the strangest boxing career's i have seen. I call Mundine the Maynard G Krebs of boxing!!

Agree, for me one of the most frustrating fighters of recent years. The guy is such a natural talent and does have the skills to pull it off (or did).

I think Green is the one that their fight mattered to , Mundine is just muddling on. as for the Kings X comment I think they might give him a run for his money up there

Seems to me all these Australian fighters are cowards who have a problem stepping up. I read Geale next opponent is going to be the used up Daniel Edouard.
