Default How do judges score fights in EUrope?

Dirrell looked pretty bad, and he didn't have look like he had good legs all night(he went it almost looked like he was on ice), but I have no idea how Froch won that fight, the only time he seemed to score punches except one nice left hook was while they were clinched and he hit Dirrell in the back of the head, and I'm not sure if anyone else read the rules, but I have, and hitting during the clinch and in the back of the head are both illegal. Dirrell is a joke as a warrior, and Froch is a joke as a boxer.

I thought Dirrell fought a good fight and showed alot of toughness. You gotta remember this is a 25 y/o who comes across the pond to fight in the champs backyard. I think he was a little nervous (which he admitted)....I thought he stood in there and traded at times pretty good. Dirrell is someone to watch.....

Froch should have had at least one point deducted....That was rediculous. It was good to see Dirrell pounding on Froch on the breaks since Froch got away with it.....

I don't think you can say judges in Europe score fights a certain way. It comes more down to what the individual judges prefer in a fight.

Personally, I think I think it was a tedious but close fight. Others might have a different take on it.

I was rooting for AD, and can make an argument for his victory, but I don't have a huge issue with this decision. The ref ultimately made no difference.

I dont get it. This is the BIGGEST robbery I have EVER seen in this sport. These are the type of fights that turn people off of boxing.

At most you could give Froch 3 rounds.

Scoring for judges in Europe and Canada

    Homeboy: hold and duck 10-10

Homeboy: If homeboy punches ( even in air) 10-9

Homeboy:If homeboy punches and connects (not on ref): 10-8

Away dude: TKO the homeboy = find reason for no decision

Away dude: KO the homeboy = we have a draw ( in dying seconds of rounds, delay the count endlessly)

fuck me if it aint true

You cant of seen much boxing matches then mate.I thought Dirrel won by 2/3 rounds but it was his own fault he needed to do abit more which he could of but he chose not to.

I could quite happily never watch another Dirrell fight for the rest of my life!

If you scored the first couple of rounds even then I think Dirrell pipped it, but if you score them to Froch because Dirrell is jumping around the ring (whilst I admit his reactions were first rate) trying to avoid a fight then he pipped it.

Either way it was a terrible fight, and actually I do want to see see Dirrell fight again because Abraham is going to catch him and knock him sparko. Oh but dear Lord, can you imagine how quickly he's going to run away from AA

Kessler/Froch will be a cracker though and seeing as Carl has Abraham after that he may well end up with just the two points. I still think he'll be in the semis though as I can see Taylor and Dirrell losing all three. *Edit* Taylor and Dirrell are due to face each other in round three so obviously that can't happen. Allan Green is the stanby fighter, apparently, should Taylor, or anyone else, pull out of the tournament.

Dirrel did an awful lot of holding,he was doing a great job at messing Froch around just needed afew more combinations from him instead of been on the run all time and i recon he would of got the win.

    Two quotes:

Froch: "If you're not going to stand and fight like a man, like a warrior, then all I can do is take what's there."

Dirrell: "I thought I held him off enough, boxed him enough to get a decision."

I thought I held him off enough?! You don't score points for dodging punches.

The guy compares himself to Roy Jones, and I'll admit he's halfway there as he looks like RJJ going backwards!

Grrr... not been this annoyed with a fighter since Sven Ottke

How many fights have you seen that were held in Canada?

One bad decision does not mean that the entire country is corrupt (the same goes for Europe but on a larger scale). Robberies/bad decision can and do happen in every country.

They sit ringside. They give 10 points to the winner of the round. 9 points to the loser. 8 points if the loser has been knocked down. When instructed by the ref they deduct points.

    Hope this helps.

Dirrel had mad reflexes but never really engaged at all.

Froch forced the fight and did enough.

Think Kessler will be too much for Froch though as he'll stand and trade.

    That one goes right off

Two of the biggest robberies i witnessed were'nt in europe but in the USA.
I seen jeff fenech handing Azumah Nelson a good hiding and not getting the decision and lennox lewis beating mr holyfield soundly and not getting the decision. Its not just europe has bad judges, nevadas full of them

Andre "run and hold like a bitch" Dirrell has deserved a draw against Carl"hit in the neck"Froch
Super Middleweight also acknowledge as Kessler's Kingdom when Calzaghe has retire
