Well... if ever it is really severe, as bad as it might be for the tournament... he should put a halt to his career .... at minimum for a VERY long moment.

You've got to feel sad for the poor bugger. He went all the way over there and to be fair he probably won the first four rounds on activity alone. Once that point was deducted though making a 10-8 round I just knew it was going to be tough for Taylor to hold it together. I don't even think Taylor was hitting particularly low. Abraham had his shorts too high and the ref was calling everything. In effect Taylor had no body to go for really, just the head and that was hidden. Not that I'm saying Taylor didn't go low unintentionally once or twice, but it wasn't a persistant thing. Neither am I making excuses for the loss, but it didn't help. Taylor was likely falling behind going into the 12th anyway.

Taylor didn't back off like against Froch and did seem to have better output in this fight. But he seemed to have little use of the right, it was mainly jab after jab. Taylor usually shows more versatility than that and didn't seem able to counter Abraham at all. I thought it might have been a fight like Pavlik 2 where Taylor showed heart by digging in and losing on the cards, but that punch from Abraham was devastating. Right through the guard and smack in the face. Taylor was obviously out as soon as it landed.

    I hope he recovers okay...

I would hope he retires after this and doesn't feel he is compelled to complete the tournament.

Apparently Allan Green is the stanby fighter -so hopefully he'll be sitting out the semis with Dirrell

Taylor has only been knocked out by the elite super power punchers. Until he starts getting ko'd by b fighters, i would say to keep fighting. Thst''s if there is no brain damage.
