So who wins now?
So who wins now?
It pains me to say it, because I do not care for him, but I would have to go with Gamboa by KO. How quickly? Well that would depend on how Lopez chooses to fight. If he sticks to boxing, I say he would last till the 8th or 9th, but if he tries to slug it out, like he did with Mtagwa, I say Gamboa might take him out around the 4th or 5th round.
And God, I really hate to say that.![]()
I say Gamboa KO because he's more seasoned, he's quicker, and he is a lot more polished. However if JuanMa was able to connect I think he could put the lights out on Gamboa too...let's not forget that Gamboa has been put down before
I'm not getting all of the kool aid drinking on Gamboa but can say he is must see, awesome impulse and instinct,he detonates on guys but I dont see 'the next coming' as some.....both have lapses big time,hittable.....just think Gamboas fire gets him through more decisively. If it happened next month I say Gamboa on power but see Lopez having many more improvements, learning and growing more over time.
I like Gamboa in this one. Come forward wing right hooks forget the jab and get in exchanges Lopez would get starched badly. If he tries to make Gamboa come to him, jab, set up the right hook he's got chances to touch up Gamboa.
But forget the exchanges. Exchanging with Gamboa is a fool's game. He's just too fast.

Gamboa by stoppage.
He's too fast for Lopez.
"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"
I think Gamboa has improved too much for Lopez now. He is basically blowing right past him in the improvement department. Gamboa throws much straighter and faster than Lopez. And now Gamboa is picking the right times to use his unmatched explosiveness. Gamboa by KO. Probably something like the 7th round.
My opinion is the same as before last night, I think Gamboa will spark him. Lopez is a very good fighter, but Gamboa is just too fast for him. When it comes to power as well, Gamboa was knocking out guys at 130lbs before comfortably moving down.
Also, disagree with Spicoli, Gamboa is 'the next coming'. The guy will rule the sport one day.
Lopez is my boy but i don't like his chances in this one. He has the power to trouble Gamboa but Gamboa poses the same threat for Juanma but also add that he's quicker and is very awkward.
Gamboa by KO, around the 5th or 7th round.
Hmmm...Gamboa might be the faster, stronger fighter and even better boxer, but he's been down before(like Lyle said)and Lopez is a big puncher himself...so I wouldn't put it past him to knock Gamboa out and lets not forget Lopez eaten alot of bombs in the Mtagwa fight being wobbled hard but not going down...I would say Lopez got the better chin from the two...But in the end my money would be on Gamboa...
So how does someone rub you the right way...![]()

I think his defensive leaks are buried under his explosive offence. Its not always going to be one way traffic and he gets hit...and dude is 28 long ring years old.I dont see it,just too premature to think him ruling the sport for me at this point...but I'll def watch the ride.
Not sure who i'd pick, but lopez has some pretty cool sponsers. Dodge and now freakin Ihop. Made me go get pancakes.
