Yeah, saw this on The Ring website earlier and was wondering if anyone has ever fought each other 4 times before? Anyway should be fun, should be fun![]()

I don't remember anyone fighting each other four times either. I agree should be fun to watch.
Ray Robinson and Lamotta also fought at least 4 times, I think the total number was 6 or 7.
Anyway this should be an exciting fight.
This fight is a safe investment for excitement and fireworks, damn great news!

That's the way it is, not the way it ends
Hopefully they get PAID. I mean PAID, if this was a $100 PPV every boxing fan should feel at least a little bit obligated to buy it considering the three fights prior.
Some people were against a fourth fight and I call those people crazy or just pussies scared of a little (or a lot) violence.
True Amat, if life was fair these would be the guys etting the $20m+ paydays. P4P calibre fighters who have given us maybe one of the best trilogies ever.
SIX times I just counted on Boxrec....I thought they only fought twice, he won one and threw the other. I really don't go that far back in boxing interest wise but it's pretty interesting to look at these guys records. Just check out the records of both SRR and JL, they fought the same guys a shit load of times.
I suppose that's when boxing was 'all' venue and fighters were thrown together to entertain rather than to make shit loads of cash. Man I'd have loved to have seen some of that shit.
Just realised I'm completely off-topic sorry bout that.
Makes sense that they get paid a lot to beat each other and to lose to anyone else would be harsh. they have beaten each others career out of each other.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
I thought going into the 3rd fight, Rafael Marquez would be able to control Israel Vasquez with his jab. Which he did successfully for so long, but then Israel Vasquez just put on so much pressure.
I really can't see Rafael Marquez winning this fight, if he couldn't keep Rafael Marquez at the end of his jab in the 3rd fight. And if he couldn't beat him in brawl in there 2nd meeting, i fail to see how he wins this.
I do really like Rafael Marquez as a fighter, but Israel Vasquez seems to be able to walkthrough Rafael Marquez's shots. And no other fighter has done that, which is why Israel Vasquez wins again for me, although i'll be hoping Rafael Marquez pulls it out.
When I heard this yesterday I just shook my head....While I loved the first 3 and love both fighters they were just too taxing of bouts...The type that leave damage to be suffered long after retirement......They have all heart!!!!
I think this is a cashout fight for Vazquez. His comeback fight was against a tomato can who'd been out of the ring even longer than Vazquez had been and Vazquez looked beyond shot. I didn't see Marquez's comeback fight but he can't be more shot than Vazquez looked. I think Marquez stops him.
I'm sure it will be entertaining but it's a pointless fight imo. These two guys were in the top 10 p4p in one of the most stacked and exciting divisions and just chose to bash each other to shit like two warring super powers that were then so depleted that the other smaller countries took over.
They aren't relavent to the division any more and that's a shame. They have made money I hope but they are both finished now and if either ever fights a live contender or rival champ again they will end up looking like Arturo Gatti.
