Default Bad News. Looks like Haye may have to fight Valuev again before any Klit!

David Haye v John Ruiz could pave the way for Nikolai Valuev rematch or Klitschkos - Telegraph

Just found this clip, Valuev did indeed have the rematch clause in his contract if this is to be believed.

Why do past wba champs get so many chances at winning their old belts back?

No idea! To be fair though this was part of the contract Haye signed to get the fight rather than the WBA enforcing it!

    Wont happen

David v goliath has been done, it was a great event but a terrible fight (always is with valuev)

Paying punters would sooner see haye getting it on with mandatorys like chambers, chagaev than go through this again

I thinks there will be no money for such a fight. TV stations will be not interested in this event.

Haye yet again is lucky enough to avoid the Klitschko's ....Keep this up a few more years...and Vitally will be retired and Wlad past his best days....

Then Haye will claim credit for both

The WBA is really prejudice on who they want as a champion..(Not prejudice in a racial way)......If they don't like certain fighters they will find ways for them not too fight for the title regardless of achievement in the ring...

EG I interviewed Virgil Hill when he was WBA cruiser weight champion...He had a lawsuit with the WBA who actually asked him to relinquish his belt so they could throw eliminator bouts with 4 fighters and then a fight for the vacant title...They told him that he was not a big name draw anymore and was HOLDING the title up from bigger better things....After his refusal to give the belt up he was actually forced to find his own opponents to fight because every opp ranked in the WBA for that weight class they would find a reason why he could not defend against them and if he did he would be stripped of his belt...

He ended up having to fight Henry Maske again (Who was retired for 10 years) just to get an opp and it was not allowed to be for the title...The only reason they allowed him to fight for the belt in the first place was because they never thought he had a chance in hell against Brudov....

They offered him the "Super" WBA title that is really not a valid world title but more of a here take this and shut up belt...OR has been used to keep guys happy long enough to give legit shot....

The WBA let Hill defend his title AFTER A LOSS to Maskaev to Arslan because they figured since he somehow beat Brudov it was not going to happen to them twice...

They are scumbags...At least the WBC does it the right way and accepts any offerings willing to be issued by promoters for title shots

....Yes and it makes the current WBA title holder look like a total chicken shit

"Oh they were going to bring out Grandma Klitschko for me to fight before I was going to be finished with them"

This was common knowledge before the Valuev fight. Haye wins he has to fight the mandatory Ruiz then give Valuev the return option.

Just like for Haye to get a Klits fight, the deal was - Haye fights Klit, Klit, Klit

Title holders have a lot of clout in the ugly business of boxing.

I hope it doesn't happen, the fight was terrible! Although I feel Haye no chance against the Klitschko brothers, I'd much rather see him in against them than a repeat with Sasquatch!

From what I read David Haye is the one that demanded the rematch clause.

Haye will do anything he can to get out of fighting one of the Klitschkos.

...it's kind of hard to like a mother fucker that talks a bunch of shit and then tucks tail and runs to hide behind the skirt of the WBA. "Oh I'll be safe here, I won't have to fight the Klitschko's"

And before you comment on it, if Haye was American I'd hate him even more because he's a fucking disgrace to the game. You don't talk shit like that and then run away. Your country should be ashamed for spawning such a spineless pussy
