Default James De Gale anyone impressed?

In front of the camera the guy comes across a bit of a tosser, but I met him and he is a top bloke, now I was quite impressed with him last night has all the tools in the book but has he got the discipline? He was a bit sloppy at times last nite but like he said he was trying things and could get away with it at that level.

How far can he go? I think he would smash Paul Smith rite now, him and Groves would be a classic down the road, I just hope all the money and fame has not gone to De Gale's head I hope he is hungry to get to the top because I think he has some great skills, I also think he is another guy who would benefit loads to get to the States and get some quality sparring out there.

    I'm impressed.

I like his speed and unorthodox style. Everytime I see him and Groves fight I swap who I think would win. Hope it turns into the next Benn-Eubank, which unfortunately it wont, sadly never does. I think he'd whoop Smith right now too

I think he's ok but for some reason that I don't quite understand he reminds me of Michael Barrymore every time I see him. I think it's the same long thin face. But I always think he's a secret homosexual who will come out in about 10 years time after his career is done.

Weird I know but that's how my mind tends to work..

Dya know what mate? Thats exactly what i thought of him until i got talking to a few guys i know who are friendly enough with DeGale, and they said he was a real sound bloke and a good guy.
Thats good enough for me although i do think someone close to him should have a word in his ear and tell him to tone down the arrogance so he gets more of the crowd on his side. Ya cant beat a bit of humility in a boxer, it endears you right away.
Now i know he claims he was trying out new things, but for a change, he should just go about his business in a professional manner because in the long run it will be better for his developement as a
boxer. The higher he climbs, the less he will get away with the lacksidaisical side to his game that he shows with great regularity

I was impressed with the fact that James De'Gale had the bollocks to box in front of a load of cock-er-nees, in East London, wearing pink shorts.

    Fair play.

James looked like a quality fighter although he should work on his basic boxing skills at this level because when he moves up in class he will need to have plan B and C in his locker.

He can be quite good but I haven't been overly impressed with him to this point. That pawing jab did my head in the other night, it looked awful and was ineffective. He just looked sloppy, getting caught with shots he shouldn't have been. Fair enough if he was trying diferent things in there, but he didn't look great IMO. I think he has the skill and ability to do well, but up to now I haven't seen anything that excites me

James had no respect for that bus driver he was in with and you could see that in his boxing. He was walking forward looking for the KO which he eventually got.

Problem is, if he has too many of those fights he could pick up bad habbits and even worse he may walk onto one because he isnt expecting anything back. Theres more to his game than what we saw on Sat.
