As some of you know im doing a video,a lot of it is on Boxing. Id be interested to see what people think the format would or should be as regards technique learning. Let me explain, Ive got Hundreds of Biomechanical goodies, for Muscle correcting, and Posture while doing movement for each Punch or movement before the Punch or Punches plus Defence mechanics. At 1st I was going to do the technique, then do all the bits after. Now talking to a few of my aids who are helping me, Im not sure. Whats your take be interested to here.

    Hey Scrap,

I'm not a hundred percent sure what you're planning to include in the video but from what I see you take a very scientific approach to boxing. Personally I think it might be a good idea to give a quick overview of theories before getting into the techniques and applications of the theory in practice.

There's this one video on youtube that kind of does what I'm saying with the boxing stance. He basically uses a whiteboard and explains and illustrates the theory in almost a lecture format then goes into the ring and displays the practical application... now, i dont really know how correct his theory is, as I am just a beginner and learning myself, but I really enjoyed his method of teaching.

The weird thing is I can only find part 1 and 2 and then 6 and 7.. but I'll post it up just to give you an idea of his format.

.. anyways, that's just one way of approaching, I'm sure everyone has their own preferences.. I just think that it's best to have format that uses various approaches so you can really get through to people with varying styles of learning.

Good luck with the production of ur video... I cant wait to see the final product, i just hope I havent developed too many bad habits at the gym by then.

Show both sides of the coin so to speak:

maybe some real live footage of correct ring craft using each move or showing a few moves linked up in a flowing system; showing it all in action pointing out the benefits of how and where it takes them to in balance and added power, pointing it all out verbally (with a voice overdub) the upper hand they can expect to gain from it etc.

Maybe a small section at the end of each section of common mistakes and habits not to fall into with footage pointing out how it traps you into the wrong positioning as well.

Your a busy beaver aren't you . Good luck with this project too mate.

Thanks, my problem is writing things down, there are techniques and movement, Stretching manouvers that replicate the actions biomechanicaly of punching and imitate and correct movement. I was wondering whether to include that with Technique or keep it seperate in another section.

I would either group them together right away.

Or have them separate, but then link them somehow.

You do know you can produce the dvd with separate chapters, its quite easy to do.

You definatley could have the chapters running in sync with each other and have them separate but running in order.

I dont know if you can link chapters but its worth an ask, I cant see why not.You would just have linked buttons in the main menu.

Chapters makes learning easier because they can study and remember where they were up to and then can go back to one section very easily instead of the fast forward thing.

The more chapters the easier the dvd is to use over time.
My mate makes surf dvds this way and they are real stand outs from the normal ones.

Good idea, a lot of the stuff is explaining the antagonist muscles and why over time they stimulate bad form. Its a sort of bit part hole idea on mechanics and how to sort it.
