What do you think is the most important thing you have to remeber to do. For me i have to stay on the balls of my feet, keep good head movement, and BREATH!!!! If i am absent minded enough to forget to do one of these things i have horrible days. I would say keep my hands up but i remember to do that pretty quickly lol.

Always Moving, relaxing, maintaining form, & breathing.

The same things we need to do in most any combat arts. (Systema, BJJ, Boxing, etc.)

I covered some of the same things you did, cambay411, but added Relaxing.

Also, I turned them into "active" or "ongoing" verbs with the "ing": These actions are never ending. We must always continue doing them.

Of course a lot of Jabbing and Throwing combos are probably good ideas too.

Great points Herb thats what im lookin for. Its easy to forget how important relaxing is until you wear yourself out from being too tight.

And the four principles are closely interrelated.

You relax on every breath, especially the exhale. You can't relax unless you keep good form and keep moving. Any time you move you must restore your balanced form. Whenever your form is cramped or bent over it hinders your breathing as does being tensed.

So always be breathing, relaxing, moving, and maintaining/restoring form.

I agree with all the comments. There are so many things to remember. I would recommend a book called 'CHAMPIONSHIP STREET FIGHTING---Boxing as a Martial Art' by Ned Beaumont, Paladin Press. One of the best books I have read that defines boxing and the fighter.
I would also add that the hardest thing not to forget in a fight or sparring is the old rule: Do not fight in anger. When you become angry....you will lose.

Real fight: Dont forget to forget everything. ( pre conceived ideas can form a block when over done.)

Expand the mental space so you can react freely using the stuff you already know off by heart.

Of course it works both ways and is different in sparring, but if your plan isnt working from your knowledge of their reactions and skills; flow free and trust what you know.

    I can explain it.
But I cant understand it for you.
