Boardwalk Empire, The New HBO Series
Anyone excited about it? It's supposed to be set in 1920's Atlantic City and explain how the Mafia/Bootleggers took hold of power there. It stars Steve Buscemi (as the lead Enoch 'Nucky' Thompson) and Stephen Graham (as a young Al Capone)
I'm pretty hyped about this, there are very few good movies about the Prohibition Era (most from the 1930's and 1940's...all the old James Cagney films 'Roaring Twenties', 'The Public Enemy', etc) it'll be really cool to see this.

Yup, I can not wait this is the show I have looked forward to ore then any other, ever. Maybe. I can't wait.

It looks incredible, but I'm afraid to start watching. It looks like the budget per episode is gonna be through the roof - and HBO has a history of killing great series mid-run for that very reason.

Deadwood lasted 3 seasons ....if this lasts 3 seasons I'll be very happy and I will get the DVD set.Originally Posted by bcollins
By the way there's a book this is based on (the book is non-fiction of course) 'Boardwalk Empire: The Birth, High Times, and Corruption of Atlantic City' by Nelson Johnson...I may buy that as well
