Default What I see as one of the big problems with the current heavyweight division

Besides not fighting the Klitschko's, the top guys don't fight eachother enough. Povetkin, Haye, Adamek, Boystov, Chagaev, Ibragimov, Arreola, Chambers etc. have never fought eachother (other than Adamek/Arreola). To me, there are the Klitschko's and then there is the rest. At least the remaining fighters could duke it out to put the rankings in order even if they can't beat the Klitschko's. For example, Haye verse a number of the above boxers would be a compelling match up; same goes for Adamek and Chambers. Hopefully, we'll see more of that in the future.

I understand that Adamek is fighting taller guys to try and become comfortable with guys the Klitschko's size. But, how about the rest?

Very true. I also think it has alot to do with publicity. I mean come on I have to watch a stream on ESPN 3 to catch a somewhat decent matchup between a Heavyweight Champion in Klitschko vs Shannon Briggs who is still a good name in the division. Simply put if this fight were brought to us Live on ESPN on Saturday and highlight's shown every 5 mins on Sportscenter like our beloved quarterbacks. It would make at least a few hundred watch it.

As for your post. Absolutely the heavies are not fighting each other. Where the hell is Adamek vs Haye, Vitali vs Valuev.

These contenders do not have to fight each other because eventually they will get their turn and do not have to risk their shot for a pay day because the Klits will eventually get round to them anyway. They will be due to fight me late next year.

....right on point, but they won't fight each other in the near future either. Simply cause they don't have to

I miss the 1980s when the guys were ripping each others heads off to get a shot. Particularly Quick Tillis. Oh wait a minute he was the one usually getting decapitated.

    James Toney?!?!?

The "contenders" if you care to call them that are being babied to damn much, how the hell can a fighter learn about what to do when you get cut? or hurt? or dropped? If they are always fighting pushovers? Alexander Povetkin is the biggest pussy of all IMO...he tucks tail and runs away from Wladimir to fight Teke Oruh!!!! Alex, you're 31, you're a Gold medal winner, you haven't even had 20 fights in your 5 YEAR CAREER and Teke Oruh is a "challenge" WTF man, are you a fighter or not?

Arreola wants big fights, but the biggest fight he's waging is "The Battle of the Bulge" and I think type 2 diabetes is going to KO his fat ass.

Dimitrenko is willing to fight good heavyweights...he's not good but he's willing.

I don't know about you guys but I want Antonio Tarver to get a title shot, any title shot, just so I can see his punk ass get KTFO by ANYONE...I'd even cheer for Chicken Little if they fought each other, I'd even not be pissed off if Chicken Little took that fight over a fight vs Wlad or Vitali.
